Im sat in the lounge just thinking, everyone else is outside- god knows why! Its cold! But if im honest its quite warm for Ireland and the sun is actually out!
Ma: Daniel
I look up and she has two cups of tea, I smile and take one of her. She sits down next to me,
Ma: how are you Daniel?
Danny: im not a little boy now, danny is fine…
Ma: shh your always gunna be my little boy, and I named you Daniel so ill call you Daniel
I laugh a little
Danny: im ok thanks, how are you ma?
Ma: im ok thanks, but really? Your ok?
Dany: yeah, its hard- especially now jess has to stay in hospital 24/7 but we are pulling through…
Ma: cant you stay there with her?
Danny: they wont let me, plus jess doesn’t want orla at the hospital anymore…
Ma: well, why don’t you let orla stay here for a little while? She can see all her cousins, we miss her here loads! We don’t get to see her much, it will be lovely, id love to spoil her! And it gives you and jess sometime- before she goes back into hospital and while she is there… doesn’t put any stress on your friends or jess’s family… I don’t mind, the offer is there its up to you…
Danny: thanks ma, that would be wonderful!
Ma: that’s what im here for! Plus gives you an excuse to come back or me to come there…
I smile
Danny: please don’t think that I don’t wanna come, if I coujld I would! I worry about jess to much, with her being ill its just hard and im normally on tour or working loads-
Ma: I know Daniel, I know. Your father used to be the same- always off on his travels… I just wish I could see you more, like I see everyone else, so I know your ok all the time- I just worry about you…
Danny: I know you do, but you don’t have too. And I wihs I could see you more and I promise from now on ill try and see you more!
She rested her head on my shoulder and I try and hold back my tears, I hate the fact that’s how my ma feels! I wish I could see her more! Be around to help more! So she gets to see her granddaughter grow up! It all just sucks!
From the age of about 16 I went off and moved to America so ive always been away. And even younger in the holiday I would go off on tour with my dad…
Ma: where is jesss?
Danny: asleep, I should probably wake her up now
Ma: leave her, she needs it…
Danny: I promised her though
Ma: your sweet, but trust me leave her, you can blame me later…
Danny: ok *smile*
Ma: and orla?
Danny: I think she is outside with everyone else…
Ma: she weren’t a little while ago
Danny: you sure?
Ma: positive, cause I aksed ian and he said he thought she was with you?
Danny: no, I have barely seen her since we got here- she loves it here!
I got up and looked out the window, everyone but orla. My heart started to race-w here is she?!
Danny: orla?
