*Danny*
I just stared at him. The bangs and whistles of fireworks filled the silence room. My eyes filled with water but didn’t spill, they stung from the tears and staring into space. I moved to look at jess, she laid still- not moving an inch. She looked pale. Calm. Peaceful.
I looked back to doctor Belgrave, still not saying anything- neither was Hannah.
Doctor: Danny, im sure you are aware by now the complications of this and how we go about with this process. We are still waiting on more test results to come back that will give us a better understanding of how bad Jessie’s condition is. This could be a temporary thing, just giving her body a quick boost and a reenergise, or it could be a permanent thing… I’ll be back when I know more… sorry Danny, Hannah…
I watch him leave and Hannah broke down into hysterical fits of tears. I pulled her into a hug as tears spilled. Why? She is my everything!
Danny: Han, do you wanna lay across the chairs with my jacket? Get some sleep?
Hannah: n-o the doctor-
Danny: ill promise ill wake you up if he comes back!
She just nodded and I got up and she laid down, I took my jacket off and laid it over her. She was asleep almost straight away. I walked over to jess and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. I grab my phone and walk out. I walk to towards the doors and stand outside. I lean against the cold hard brick wall and open my phone.
*Call*
Rose: Danny!?
Danny: h-I rose… um some of jess’s results have come back and… um… she… um…
Rose: its ok Danny, you can tell me, what has happened?
Danny: she’s in a coma…
The line fell dead for a moment,
Danny: im really sorry rose, the doctors are waiting on my tests to come back to see how bad it is…
Rose: *sniffles* I’ll- we will come see her first thing in the morning Danny…
Danny: im so sorry
Rose: im sorry too…
*end of call*
I flick through my phone as a tear ran down my cheek.
*call*
Holly: what is it? What’s wrong? Is she ok? Will she be ok?
I just broke down into tears and sank to the cold hard pavement.
Danny: she’s in a coma, A FUCKING COMA! My Jessie…
I just cried into the phone I didn’t care what holly thought, the emotion that was building up with in me just flowed and flowed and flowed.
Holly: no… no… no… not again! No! *breaks down*
Danny: i-I don’t know how bad yet but it could be permanent
I choke out
Holly: im coming! I-I need to see her!
Danny: you-you can’t tonight hols, im sorry… I want you to come too but Hannah is here to and we aren’t even meant to be here!
Holly: first thing tomorrow I’ll be there!
I could hear the pain, tears and hurt in her voice. I asked her to tell Clair for me and said I’ll see her tomorrow. I was about to go back in when my phone called. It was ma. I clear my throat and answer.
