Levi's POV:
I took the job that would keep me as far away from Eren as possible. Keeping a close watch on Zeke. I'm the only man he's ever been afraid of. I made sure I made that fear permanent in his mind the last time we had fought. I was ready to shove my blade out the back of his head. I looked up above and saw tall trees within the dark forest. But right across from me was Zeke. Just looking at him makes me sick. I can't help but feel like he manipulated Eren's mind in some way. He's a part of this. That's who Eren left to be with. He was in the middle of explaining to me the story of Ragako Village. That's where Connie is from. That must be how his mother turned into a Titan.
"And that's why the people of that village transformed into obedient Titans." He said.
"It was called Ragako, not that village. And seeing as you murdered every person who lived there, you should learn the name you bearded shit."
"Look, it's not like I wanted to do it. I just did what was needed to convince the Marleyan's that I was loyal to them. If they'd learn the truth then I never could've brought hope to this island. None of this is new to you though, I told you guys the exact same thing when I got here. Why do you keep asking me about it?"
"Because I can see that you aren't burdened by a shred of guilt over what you've done. I still can't tell if you actually want to save Eldia. But it's clear that those lives meant nothing to you."
"Doubt you were well liked by the ladies." You don't know the half of it. "Considering how you think you know what everyone else is feeling."
"I do know, and I was liked well enough."
"Well good for you. Actually." Please don't say what I think you're going to say. "Eren mentioned you once or twice." Shit. "Seems like that's the only one you were ever liked by. But I was shocked when he told me he didn't care if I killed you or n-"
"That's enough." My voice was stern. But those two words were all I was able to manage. I wouldn't have believed him if it weren't for my last conversation with Eren. Even then I didn't believe him entirely. Either he was lying or I was too stubborn.
"Don't believe me?"
"I said that's enough." My nails were digging into my palms. I couldn't stand to hear any more of this.
"Anyway, when are you going to let me meet with him so we can run our experiments."
"That isn't my call to make. We're waiting for HQ."
"If your commanders think that they have time to spare, then they couldn't be more wrong."
"On that one point, we agree."
Hange told me what happened between her and Eren. As well as me telling her what happened between me and him. She wasn't pleased to know I actually went in the cell with him but that's why I went alone. Judging by those two events, he doesn't care about anyone. He most certainly won't let anyone get in his way either.
"Captain Levi!" One of the troops called. He had whispered in my ear. "What? Are you serious?"
He fucking did it.
The bastard fucking did it.
Eren escaped.
