Eren's POV:

"Eren," Principal Isayama's secretary, Mrs. Walker, came into my class and called me. I knew  exactly what this was about. I got up out of my seat and followed Mrs. Walker in silence. Once we made our way to the room, I was also met with Coach Shadis and my father.

"Take a seat, Eren." Principal Isayama said. I pulled out a chair and sat in the middle of my coach and my father with their eyes on me as I looked at the principal. "I'm sure you know what we're here to talk about." I nodded. "Can you tell me what happened?"

"I got into a fight." I wasn't in a mood to give the details. Just give me my suspension and let me go home.

"With whom and why?"

"Floch Forster," I sighed, "he's been telling people my boyfriend killed himself and that it's my fault. He's currently in the hospital right now in a coma after a suicide attempt so I didn't appreciate the bullshit."

"Eren," my father whispered, not liking my tone.

"You do realize that these are major consequences, correct?" I'm sure Isayama could tell I didn't care. I just nodded. "Coach Shadis has decided to keep you on the team. But you will still be suspended for two weeks. Although you may still be on the team, you will not be allowed to attend practice or games."

"Then how the fuck is keeping me on the team worth it when we only have two weeks left."

"Eren," my father said in a more demanding tone.

"This means you still be able to play next season rather than not playing at all."

"Okay," I nodded, "and what about basketball?"

"You will be able to participate." That was a relief even though I haven't decided if I want to play or not.

"Okay, so two week suspension, can't go on school grounds, can't finish out the season but I'll be able to next season, and I can play basketball. Anything else?"

"No, that is all."

"Sir," Mrs. Walker popped her head in, "Floch Forster is here now."

"Send him in," he nodded. Floch came in beyond nervous. "Hello, Floch," he came in and took the last seat available and sat next to Coach Shadis. "I'm sure you know what this is regarding," Floch nodded and I listened to the principal repeating the same things to Floch. "Coach Shadis as well as the other coaches have decided that you will not be able to be on the team and you have a two week suspension." I was shocked to hear him getting a different punishment but I had to keep it together.

"What?!" He exclaimed. "How is that fair? I'm sure Jaeger gets to play and he's the one that started it."

"Mr. Jaeger is also suspended and will not play for the rest of the season."

"This is insane." Floch immediately stood up and left the room. Principal Isayama just sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Anyway," he began, "Eren, Coach Shadis has done nothing but rave about you on the field and has been in contact with multiple Ivy League schools to get you a full ride scholarship for football. Your grades are above average and you're one of the best athletes this school has ever seen. You're only in the first half of your junior year but you have time."

"What universities have the best football teams?" I asked.

"UGA, Alabama, Notre Dame. There's plenty."

"Wow," I was in disbelief.

"As long as you keep your grades up and continue to shine on that field, I'd say you have a pretty good chance." He looked at my father, "I called you here to give you the news as well as apologizing for the hard time you're going through. One of my students have contacted me and explained the situation and how heavily involved you are. Unfortunately, it's school protocol to suspend you but just know that we're here to help."

"Thank you." I nodded and stood up. I shook his hand and left the room with just my dad following as Coach Shadis stayed back.

We walked to the parking lot in silence. I just didn't want to talk.

"Are you going to visit Levi now?" He asked. I nodded. "Okay, I'll see you when you get home. Be careful." Home for us has been the Ackerman household. My dad was like a father to Mikasa so she was able to get comfortable rather quickly. Hange loved talking to someone so intelligent so they clicked as well. He's always wanted to be the father he wasn't and I'd say he's succeeded. Who knew this man had such a big heart?

"I will," I nodded.

"Love you, son."

"Love you too, dad."

I got in my car and started the engine, making my way to the hospital Levi was staying in. Once I arrived, I walked in and the lady at the front desk knew me at this point and allowed me to walk to his room. It hasn't gotten easier; seeing him in all those wires and tubes connected to his body. But he was alive and that's all I could be thankful for.

"So I got suspended," I started. It was a common practice for me to just tell him about my day. I'm still convinced he can hear me so I'm sure we'll talk about all of it soon, "because I beat the shit out of Floch like I said the other day. But now it's for two weeks. I won't be able to play for the rest of the season but that's okay. I'm finally looking into getting a job too. When you wake up, I want to spoil the shit out of you. I was thinking of working at the coffee shop Hange works at or work with Mikasa at H&M but I figured I should find something else. I need to do something other than sit around and be depressed. I know that's what you'd want so I'll do it for you." I took his hand and a shiver went up my spine once I felt how cold he was. "I keep having the same bad dream every night. You'll wake up and you'll tell me you never want to see me again and that this was my fault. I've almost been mentally preparing for it. I just do that instead of sleeping sometimes. Turns out, I can't sleep without you either." I moved the hair off his forehead and kissed it softly. "I love you."
