Eren's POV:
"I gotta put you on new music, Levi. This is getting too much. You can't only listen to Radiohead." I laughed, driving to the beach.
"Fine, I'll let you play me one song. If it impresses me, you can keep going." Good enough for me. Levi is more of a book person and typically only watches movies that originate from some form of book, hence his love for superheroes because they come from comics. But music? If I were to put on Thriller, the poor thing wouldn't have a clue as to why it's so amazing.
"Alright, I'll play you my favorite song right now."
"What's it called?" I scrolled through my music library, unbearably excited to show him.
"Jet."
"Jet? Not a bad name."
"I've been listening to the live version but I'll play the studio one." The next second, I turned the volume all the way up as Jet by Wings started to play. I kept looking back and forth from the road then back to him. From the looks of it, I think this just became his new favorite song. I started singing softly but he immediately covered my mouth. He was completely locked in just as I expected. I'll never understand how Levi, of all people, didn't dive into The Beatles, it's right up his alley. Every time Paul shouted the title in the song, I couldn't help but smile myself. I've always been a Paul type of guy over John. I'm fully expecting Levi to be a John guy though. The song finally ended and I lowered the volume and looked at him. "So who the fuck was that?" He smiled, making me laugh.
"Wings. That was Paul McCartney's band after The Beatles."
"Does he have any more like that?"
"Oh lord, get ready for this one." Live and Let Die came on next and I turned the volume back up. Luckily, we had an hour drive to the beach so I had plenty of time to show him some of the greatest music of all time. I took his hand in mine once the slower part came on after the orchestral section and started tapping each beat on the back of his hand. The song ended and he actually seemed disappointed.
"Okay, question."
"Ask away."
"Are The Beatles as good as that?"
"I will show you and you tell me." I handed him my phone. "Look up Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band."
"Okay, there's a song and there's an album."
"The song." I smiled. "Gotta start you off easy." He was visibly into the song. I could tell by the way his leg was bouncing. His head nearly snapped once John started singing because he wasn't expecting another voice. Once that song had ended, I explained that they all sang but Paul and John were the main ones. "Put on Helter Skelter."
"Like, Charles Manson?"
"No, not like Charles Manson. Like The Beatles." I laughed. The drive continued with The Beatles music blaring through the speakers. He loved every song I showed him. The clear favorites were Eleanor Rigby, Helter Skelter, Hey Jude got him a little emotional but he'll never admit to that. But his ultimate favorites, judging by his constant leg bouncing, were somehow Hey Bulldog and even more surprising, Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite. I knew he'd be a John guy.
We finally made it to the beach and I couldn't help but smile at his temporary look of shock.
"Jesus, fuck Radiohead."
"Oh my god." I bent my knees a bit and let him jump on my back. I'm still not necessarily sure why he wanted to go since he hates the sand so much but if he wants to leave his room, I will 100% support it. "So you'd say you're a Beatles fan now?" I felt him nod on the side of my head. I took us towards the water but far enough so it wouldn't touch him. He tapped me, signaling me to put him down. He stood next to me and held my hand, staring out at the ocean. "What would you say your favorites were?" I wanted to see if my predictions were correct.
