Eren's POV:
Now that everything was back to normal in my world, our group hangouts were back in action. Somewhat.
"Why don't you wanna go?" I was frustrated on the phone with Levi. It's been 2 weeks since we got back together and I don't think we've had a single day that didn't have some sort of fight.
"Because I'm not hungry." I've tried my best to help him recover. I'd say that would be the main cause of most of our arguments.
"Then you don't have to eat." I was sitting in my car, still parked in front of my house. We were all supposed to go to some hibachi restaurant, which I was incredibly excited for, but of course I have to deal with this. Every. Damn. Time.
"I still don't want to go."
"You know what? I don't have time for this." I put my car in drive and headed towards the restaurant instead of Levi's. "I'll talk to you later." I hung up the phone without a chance for him to throw some rude remark in just like he always does. I try and give him the benefit of the doubt since he's still heavily struggling with Kuchel but it's still really hard. I'm not sure why I thought everything would magically become better once we got back together but that hasn't been the case. Sometimes I feel like my only purpose is to help Levi sleep, other than that I'm just his punching bag to cope with his trauma. He hasn't even attempted to start eating better and at first I thought it would take time until I realized he doesn't want to. He's dropped about 5 more pounds since we got back together and I'm getting nervous. Not that I wasn't already worried for his physical well being but it's the fact that it's still happening even though he has me to take care of him. Although I will say, because he's able to sleep when I'm with him, he hasn't cut himself so I'm really grateful for that. But to top everything off, he still hasn't gone back to school. In fact, Mikasa told me he's thinking about dropping out.
I got to the restaurant and parked next to Hange's Jeep. She seemed to have the same frustrated look on her face as she was talking to Mikasa sat in the passenger seat. Levi really seems to be messing with everyone's heads today. I got out of the car and once they had noticed me, Hange and Mikasa did as well.
"Couldn't convince him?" I sighed.
"We thought you'd be able to." Hange seemed drained. "We thought about taking him to see someone."
"Yeah, like he'd ever agree to do that." I rolled my eyes and opened the door for them both as they responded with their thanks. When we made it inside, we realized we were the last ones here.
"Took you guys long enough." Jean scoffed. I pulled out the seat in between him and Reiner.
"I'm guessing Levi wanted to sit this one out too?" Connie was disappointed, that much was obvious. "I thought we were having a good time at the football game. You've had like 2 more since then."
"I told you, man," Reiner shook his head, "you're his human sleeping pill. You're not good for anything else to him."
"Reiner, don't you think that's a little much?" Sasha added.
"You'd think so." Jean rolled his eyes.
Sometimes oversharing can be an issue. In this case, I've told Jean and Reiner about my daily life with Levi and their disliking for him grows by the day. Armin, on the other hand, feels bad for Levi and just wants the best for the both of us. Speaking of Armin...
I tapped Reiner and moved my eyes down to Jean's lap which had Armin's hand in his. We both looked back at each other and shook our heads. Jean talks about Marco and Armin frequently and from the sound of it, he's going to pick Marco. I'm not sure when but he will eventually and it's going to be a very painful day.
Finally the chef came out and the gossip ceased. We just enjoyed our time together, cheered, laughed. The highlight was when the chef tossed the vegetable, that I genuinely cannot remember the name of, at us. The only people that struggled to catch it were Hange, Armin, and Connie which was no surprise to any of us. Sasha caught it every single time which was even less of a surprise.
It was a good night. I just wish Levi could've been here.
