Eren's POV:

I don't understand how things could be so amazing and then a disaster the next.

I was having a nightmare. I woke up in screaming  terror unsure of where I was, or who I was for that matter. I felt the tears streaming down my cheeks as I looked around confused.

"Eren, relax!" Armin said and stood up in front of the cell bars. "You're in the stockades. You and Mikasa are serving time for insubordination."

Insubordination for not following Levi's rules. He confuses me. One second he tells me he wants to be with me and now he puts me in a cell? I don't understand. I guess he's just trying to make things less suspicious. It's still shitty.

I walked up to Armin as well as Mikasa in the cell next to me.

"Jesus Christ, that hair," I thought to myself, looking at Mikasa.

"Were you having a nightmare, Eren?" She asked.

"Yeah...I was."

"You just said, who am I?" Armin said to me. I didn't realize I had said that out loud.

"Are you crying, Eren?" Mikasa asked.

I walked over to the bars and slid my back down against them. "I feel like...I just woke up from the longest dream ever." I ran my fingers through my hair with the tears staying put. "No. Not a dream. Memories. Just now, I was connected to my dad's memories. That Titan...it was you...Dina."

I was afraid. I didn't know what any of this meant. How was this possible? Was there a chance I could see more? I needed to know.

"Eren?" I heard Mikasa say in the cell next to mine.

"Yeah?"

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah." I lied. "Are you?"

"Yeah." It was clear she lied as well.

My mind was overwhelmed with so much thought. My father's memories. Levi.

Levi.

He's masking his feelings for me a little too well in front of the others. Although no one knows, you'd at least think he'd go easy on me. Instead, I've been detained for disobeying him. But even so, I still missed him. He could do anything he wanted and I'd still have my heart set on him.

I went to lay back in my bed and closed my eyes with a fantasy of me and Levi. We'll make it out of this. Me and him. The world's strongest. I could picture us holding hands through town. Me with a smile on my face, him with this natural plain expression. But his eyes are so readable. I can imagine the love in his eyes when he looks at me. I see myself looking older, taller. He just stays the same. He's so beautiful to me. His silver eyes, his raven black hair, his soft lips. I could hear him talk for hours. Whether it's him reprimanding me because he's still the captain or it's him telling me what different types of teas do for your body. I'd listen to it all. Thinking about him so much had helped me drift into a deep sleep.

But then the next morning came. My mind went right back to my father's memories. I found myself spaced out, mumbling without even noticing.

"What's that all about?" A voice snapped me out of my trance. Hange. I looked over to see Armin and Levi by her side as well. "It's called the Attack Titan. That's what you just did, remember?" I genuinely couldn't remember. Levi held out a key to the lock, getting tired of Hange's voice. "Aww come on, he did! Am I the only one who saw him?" She looked over at Armin to help her out.

"No, but I think he was just-" Armin began.

"Just what?" She exclaimed. "Who the hell were you talking to?"

"No one, it's nothing." I said in a dull tone as I looked away from them.

"You said the name of your Titan, right? Are you practicing ways to introduce him or-"

"Let it go, Hange." Levi interrupted. My body began to tingle at the sound of his voice. He had finally unlocked the door for me to come out. "He's 15 years old, we all go through a phase like this." I was shocked he was defending me in front of other people. That made me happy but I couldn't smile due to the situation at hand.

"A phase where we mutter weird crap while posing?" Hange was in no mood for any of this.

"Hange, I'll explain it to you later." Armin began. "It's not right with with-"

I couldn't keep quiet any longer. "What the hell do you want?" I shouted. Then Levi opened the door.

"Get out." He spoke.

"What?" I was shocked. "But I'm not done, I still have 10 full days left."

"I'm satisfied." Maybe he missed me. "Hange just gave you 10 day's worth of pain."

"We talked it all over with Premier Zachary so don't worry. If we keep the brave heroes who toppled the Armored and Colossal Titans in jail, it kinda sends a bad message, ya know." I left the cell and stared at Hange as she continued. "Plus, you were only defying the morons who had the Beast and Armored Titans at their mercy but let them get away."

"That isn't true." What the hell was she saying. Mikasa walked out of her cell looking lifeless. I was worried. She looked sick. "Did you lose some weight?" She looked over at me. "That's odd, we had plenty to eat." She hid her face afterward. I didn't meant to hurt her feelings; I was just hoping she was okay.

"You look...well enough." She said.

"Yeah, I guess." I sighed.

"Let's go." Levi called out. "Get dressed already."

Get dressed for what? "Wait, where are we going, captain?"

"The state meeting?" He turned his head enough for me to see his eyes. They were filled with reassurance. I felt relief. He wasn't upset with me.
