Eren's POV:
I was going to put all this money to good use tonight. Date night. My dad let me borrow his car so I don't need to embarrass myself by asking my mother for a ride. Taking Levi on dates can be tricky. He doesn't like crowds too much, we need to avoid sugar, he doesn't like children, he's a picky eater, and he doesn't have the patience for a movie theater. He says it's dumb to pay all that money for tickets when you can just wait for it to come onto Netflix or HBO Max. Which his mother pays for.
I texted him that I was outside and he walked out, trying to hide the smile on his face. It was nice knowing he was just as excited to see me. He was wearing his usual black skinny jeans and a dark gray sweater. I was surprised to see him wearing the black converse I had recently bought him rather than his every day casual dress shoes. I don't know how he makes them look normal, but then again he is Levi. He got in the car and gave me his typical glare when he gets suspicious.
"Hi." I leaned over for a kiss but he grabbed my cheeks to examine my face.
"Did you lose?" I really didn't want to talk about the other night.
"Never." I sounded a little funny due to his hand still pinching my face. He touched the cut underneath my eye and it made me wince. It hurt like a bitch. "If I lose, then I can't take you out on dates. Like this one." I started to drive off.
"You have absolutely no idea what we're doing, do you."
"Excuse me," I gasped, "I have a plan."
I have no plan.
"Oh yeah? Where?"
Oh my god, I got it.
Eren, you're a genius.
"You'll see." I smiled. I gave him the aux because I know it'll make him happy. I don't think I know a single person who listens to Radiohead more than him. But I don't complain. The first song he put on was Paranoid Android by none other than Radiohead. This one was definitely in my top 3. I stretched my right hand out and placed it on his thigh. He stayed on his phone but moved his leg closer so I could get a better hold on him. Whenever we're together, I can't help but want to be close to him in some way. I guess you could call it clingy. But can you blame me? The drive there was silent between us but it was never uncomfortable. We didn't always need to speak in order to enjoy each other's company. "We're here!" It was 100% Levi proof. I looked at him with nervous anticipation. "Good idea?"
"We'll see." Sometimes I feel like Levi is a bit unappreciative of the things I do for him. Although I know how much he loves me, I don't exactly get anything in return. Not that I'm asking for anything. But it would be nice to have at least some reassurance. But also at the same time, I feel like I have a lot to make up for. Like a lot a lot. Like over 1,000 years worth.
I got out of the car and walked to the passenger door to open it for him. I took his hand and mine and we were directed towards our date location.
The aquarium.
Levi proof.
It was dark with lit up tanks inside. There seemed to be a decent amount of people here but none too loud. Every few seconds I couldn't help but look down at him in hopes that he likes my spontaneous idea. We found ourselves at another section with reptiles. Not sure how that got into an aquarium but we're just going to go with it.
"Those are cool." I had my eyes glued on the gold colored frogs in the glass cage.
"They can literally kill you," Levi scoffed.
"Says who?"
"Jesus Christ, Eren," he mumbled then stood in front of me. He leaned down, purposely pushing his ass on me. "The Golden Poison Dart Frog," he began to read, "the golden poison frog is considered one of the most toxic animals on Earth. A single specimen measuring two inches has enough venom to kill ten grown men."
