Chapter 95

Levi's POV:

I was nervous. Luckily for me, I have the ability to act as if I'm completely fine. Or maybe not so lucky since Eren has been the only person to tell when I'm feeling a certain way. I knew this only because of a past memory I had.

"Wanna know something?" He had whispered in my ear. "I like you a lot, Levi." He bit his lip and looked down but then back to my eyes. "I like your eyes. I like how you act like you have zero emotion but your eyes say it all. I feel like I'm the only one that sees."

"And what are my eyes telling you now?"

"You're sad." He frowned. "I'm not really sure why. Should I ask?"

"No." I shook my head, looking away from his turquoise eyes. But I took it upon myself to return to his body. I rested my head on his chest as I wrapped my arms around his waist. He lifted my chin with his thumb and his pointer finger. He kissed my forehead and looked back at me. He broke out into a giant smile. "What?"

"Nothing." He shrugged, acting as if it was nothing but there was definitely something.

"Tell me."

"I'm just thinking."

"About?"

He bit his lip, trying to contain his smile. "How beautiful I think you are."

He gasped over dramatically. "Is Captain Levi Ackerman blushing?"

"Shut up, brat." I roll my eyes. I tried to break away from the arms I had missed a few minutes ago.

"Come here." He whispered with a smirk and pulled me back. He passionately placed a kiss on my lips and I kissed back immediately. I wanted more as I run my fingers through his hair to pull him closer than he already was. He lifted his hands to both sides of my jaw and his thumbs on my cheeks. He caressed them softly. But then he pulled back to catch his breath. I had hoped he would kiss me again but he just examined the features of my face. He traced my defined cheekbones and sharp jawline with his thumb. "So beautiful." He whispered.

"Eren?"

"Yeah?"

"I like you a lot too, Eren."

That one has been in the spotlight lately. We really did love each other. I really would do anything to get that back. I feel like I'm almost there with all the memories. I know I don't have all of them back but maybe most. I hope.

Mikasa came in the house, saw me, then went upstairs without a word. She slammed her door shut. Either because Eren did something bad or she's still mad at me. Maybe both.

Eren - Are you ready?

My stomach started to tingle with anxiety once I had read his text. Physically, I'm very ready. Emotionally? Absolutely not.

I left the house quietly and got in the backseat of the car. I was expecting him to be in the front with his mom but he had decided to join me.

"Hi, Levi. How are you? It's been a while." Carla said, driving back to their house

"I'm good, Mrs. Jaeger. How are you?"

The conversation went on as Eren stayed silent. There was a lump in my throat to say the least.

Once we had pulled into the driveway, we all got out of the car in silence. We walked in the house and immediately up to his room. He closed the door and I leaned against the wall with my arms crossed as he sat on his bed.

"You know every time you'd do that, I really thought I was going to get yelled at." He laughed.

"Do what?"

"That." He motioned his finger up and down at my body.

"This?" Do what?

"Stand like that. All bad and tough."

"I'm literally just...okay, whatever." I'm just standing here, I didn't realize I'm all 'bad and tough' by crossing my arms. "What do you want to talk about?"

He tilted his head at the bed, asking me to join him. I didn't move. He sighed in defeat.

"I'm sorry."

"Thanks." My plan was to act pretty cold until I heard the words 'I broke up with Mikasa'. I'm really hoping that's why she decided to act like a complete bitch.

"I'm serious, Levi."

"No, you're not. If you were, you wouldn't be with Mikasa." That was my subtle way of trying to hear the magic words.

"I guess you're right." That just told me they didn't break up. I was sick. Time for plan B.

"Break up with her." I blurted out. He was definitely shocked but he had to have seen it coming.

"What?"

"Break...up with her." I pushed myself off the wall and walked in front of him. I looked him straight in the eye. "What are the pros of dating my sister?" He stayed silent. "What are the cons?" He still stayed silent. "Fine. I'll answer that for you. Pros, she has her full memory back, you get to try out your little experiment since you decided to choose me over her back then, and she has a vagina. Cons, no one wants to talk to you or her and you're pushing me away. So take your pick, Jaeger. Get all your friends back most likely and be with me like you've wanted or stay with her."

"Levi, it's not that simple."

"Eren, why the fuck did you ask me to come here?" This was a mistake and a waste of my time. "Actually," I took out my phone and went to text Hange. I don't want to be here anymore, I need a ride home, "I'm gonna leave."

"Levi," he stood up off the bed. I backed away from him, "all I wanted to do was apologize. I mean it, I'm sorry."

"No, you're not fucking sorry, Eren. You know something about you? Just because you're not out in the world killing millions doesn't make you any more of a monster than you are right now. You're selfish and pathetic. Do you remember what you fucking said to me? 'And you wonder why I had no issue getting with Mikasa.' Wow. I just can't believe-"

"Alright, I get it!" He raised his voice. "I want to break up with her, okay?"

"Why?"

"Because I do love you, Levi. That's why."

"So then what's your plan since you claim it's not that simple to just break up with her? Cheat on her with me? Is that it?" He looked away from me. Yup, that was his plan. To fucking play with me. My phone buzzed and I took it out of my pocket.

Hange - I'm outside

"Hange's here." I said.

"Wait, you're actually leaving?" He was beyond hurt but so was I. I opened his door and went down the stairs quickly as he followed me. "Levi, come on."

"No. Figure your shit out."

Due to the fact that it wasn't my house and that it was pretty late, I had to self control to close the door quietly rather than slam it like Mikasa had to her door before. He didn't come after me. Smart. I got into Hange's car and she didn't say a word. I had my hand covering my mouth with my fingers towards my ear and closed my eyes.

"I give up." I finally whispered. I felt defeated. Completely defeated.

"That bad?"

"Worse than I thought."

"What happened?"

"His plan was to cheat on Mikasa with me."

"What a scumbag." She shook her head.

Do I move on? Do I continue to wait? Do I keep trying to win him over? I really wish I knew.
