CHAPTER 91: VALENTINE'S DAY

I was in Mia's room, Molly came in and said "Madison, will you please come down and watch my tv show with me. Please.  I'm going to miss you so much when you leave for college. I want to watch tv with you."  She was so adorable.  I said, "yes Molly. Let me go tell your brother."  She and Mia went downstairs. Molly asked her mom if we could make popcorn and watch her tv show. She said ok.  I told Tom that Molly asked, so he said ok.  

I was down with Molly on my lap, Mia sitting next to me. Tom's mom and dad were sitting opposite us in their recliners.  Tom came downstairs.  Molly said, "hi Tommy" He said, "hi sweetie."  Molly said, "do you want some popcorn" He said, "no thanks."  He said, "hey Rain, sorry to bother you, I was needing your help for a minute."  I said, "ok" He said, "Can you look over my answer, explaining how I came up with it. Let me know if I need to redo it or" I said, "oh ok" He said, "That is if you're allowed to even come in my room, it might be against the rules."

Thomas said, "That's enough young man. I know you're upset. But you know that Madison is allowed in your room."  Tom said, "just making sure. I mean it's your house, figured I'd ask, wouldn't want to break a rule" I said, 'Tom please." We go upstairs. I said, "I know you're upset, but please Tom don't fight with your dad because of me."  I looked at his answer, and then he hugged me and kissed my forehead, and I went back downstairs. Tom came downstairs when he was finished and sat by us on the couch.  Molly got on his lap, and we finished watching her show.  She fell asleep so Tom carried her upstairs. I went upstairs.  I said, 'Tom I'm tired I'm going on into the guest room, well I guess it's my room now."  He said, "I hate this.  I said, "night" I went to my room.

Tom came in. He said, "hey what was that" I said, "What" He smiled.  He said, "so what I don't even get a hug, you just say night and leave me standing there alone" I laughed.  I said, "Sorry, I didn't know you wanted a hug."  He said, "Rain, I always want a hug."  I laughed. So did he.  He wrapped his arm around me and hugged me. His head on my neck.  He said, "that's better." he said, "are you going to miss me" I said, "yes."  He said, "I'm going to miss you, I probably won't be able to sleep."  I said, "just try and relax."   He kissed my cheek. He left.

Tom's dad was coming up the stairs.  He went to Tom's room. He said 'Thomas, I know you're mad, and I understand why. But I'm just doing what we think is best. It's not because I don't trust you. I do trust you. I know that you and Madison haven't had sex and your mom, and I would not have let you stay home alone for the week with Madison, if we thought you were breaking our rule. I just know that temptation is a powerful thing." Tom said, "dad I know that. That is why I don't kiss her in here, I kiss her at school. I resent and it pisses me off you are thinking I would disrespect Maddie or do something like that where my little sisters could walk in and see. I would not do that."   

Thomas said, "I'm sorry. Your mom and I have made this decision. We were not trying to say that we don't trust you, or that we think you've broken our rules or are setting a bad example for the girls or that you would disrespect Madison. I can see how much she means to you. We are just doing what we think is best. Night son" He left. Tom was in bed. He picked up the other pillow and smelled it. He said I can still smell you, Madison. Your hair. Tom got his phone. 

My phone rang. I looked and smiled when I saw it was Tommy.  I said, 'Hey Hanson" He said, "hey if you're sleepy," I said, "no I'm not that sleepy. I mean I'm tired, but not sleepy yet" He said, "this sucks. I can't sleep."  We talked. Next morning when we got to school, I started to go sit at our table, Tom was looking around. He said, "I'll be back."  I said, "Tom where are you" I saw where he was looking.   I said, 'Tom, please don't go over there."  He said, "I'm going to go have words with him. I need to kick his ass. Lying about us to my dad."  I said, 'Tom please don't please."  He looked at me. I said, 'If you do, it will just make her happy, she will for one know that she got you in trouble, and second she will be happy you are coming over to her, Tom please." He said, 'Ok you're right."
