CHAPTER 84: RETURN OF HER HERO

Tom had a basketball game Friday night, and then we went to hang out with Mike and Emma.  Mike had been wanting to hang out with us more, so not sure what happened with Jill. He didn't seem to be seeing her, but when I asked Tom, he said he didn't know what happened, Mike had said he didn't want to talk about it.

Mike told Tom he would see him tomorrow. Emma said she would be by at 10.  Tom and I went home.  It was quiet on the ride home.  Just the radio on.  We went to bed and didn't really talk any more that night.    

Saturday morning Molly came running in and jumped on Tom waking us up.  She did it every morning.  She was excited to go with me and Emma. She said, "Maddie will you fix my hair like yours before we go."  I said., "yes I will after breakfast."  After breakfast, I went into Mia's room, and we fixed Molly's hair.  Mia was excited to go too.  I did not have to work after all. One of the other girls needed me to switch with her on Sunday, so I was going to work tomorrow, and she work for me.

Mia said. "Madison how do you know Dennis? Is he your ex-boyfriend?"  Tom was in the door listening.  I said, "no Mia. He's just a good friend. He was the one who helped me that night."  She said, "oh right. So, he moved to LA, Is he moving back?"  I said, "no I don't think so, he's just in town to see his mom."  Mia said, "Thanks for letting us go." I saw Tom.  I said, "hey Tommy" He said, "Rain" Mia took Molly to her room to help her pick her clothes out.  I said, 'Tommy, I'm happy that you are going to get to hang out with your friends, but I guess there's no chance I can talk you into coming with us. I really wanted you to meet Dennis and for him to meet you."  

Tom said, "I'm sorry Madison, but I'd rather not go. I'm happy that you are going to get to see him. I know how much he means to you."   I said, "I meant maybe you   could come with us and then leave to go meet Mike and the guys? Just long enough to meet him" Tom said, "I'm not sure that's a good idea Rain" He left the room and went to his room.  I followed him.  I said, 'Why do you say it's not a good idea" He said, "Can we drop this please" I said, "Fine, I just wanted you to meet him. I know we are fake Tom; you don't need to keep reminding me."  I left the room and went into Molly's room.  

Tom said "dammit"    He came in there.  Molly said, 'Tommy will you paint my nails before we go" Tom smiled at her.  He said, "yes Molly in a minute.  You sure do look really pretty" She hugged him and gave him a kiss on his cheek.  He said, "Molly I need to see Maddie, I'll be right back."  He took my hand and we left.  We went into his room.

He said, "what was with that remark for" I said, "nothing Tom."  He said, "Then why did you say it" I said, "I just did."  He said, "Don't get bitchy with me, just because I don't want to meet your friend Maddie. I don't deserve that." I said, "I'm sorry. I know that. I just wanted you to go, so I was just wanting to know why it's not a good idea" He said, "Because I don't like the guy, you do, I don't want to be a jerk and then have you mad at me. That is not going to help anything It will just make things worse."  I said, "Why don't you like Dennis, you don't even know him" Tom said, "Madison, I'm grateful to him for saving you. I truly am. I'm glad that he was there, that he saw what they were doing, and found you, and became your hero. But I just don't like him." 

 I said, 'you don't know him" Tom said, "I know, but I don't trust him. I think he's wanting to see you, so that he can make a move on you, and I don't think that he cares that you have a boyfriend. Yes it upsets me if a guy is going to hit on my girlfriend, whether we are fake or not, for one, it's just the idea of it, after all the cheating she did, and the other thing is because you are my best friend, I've never had a soulmate and best friend like this before, and I don't want to lose it, and he represents a threat to what I have"

I said, 'Tommy, he does not want me. I wanted to be with him, I think because I was so grateful to him for saving me, and he was being so nice to me, and no guy had ever taken the time to be nice or even notice me. But he made it clear that I was too young for him. I was just a kid."  Tom said, "Well, I doubt that he is going to think that now, after he sees you" I said, "Tom, you don't need to worry about our deal. I won't end it, and I won't ever humiliate you like that."
