Chapter Seventy Five

Lexie had been in LA a week, Johnny had decided to fly out with her and so had laid on a private jet for the pair. She kept to her word and checked into the suite provided by the production at The Beverly Wilshire. It was ironic that it was the exact same suite as the year prior, she couldn't believe how much had changed in her life during that 10 short months since she was last there. Her phone rang and it was Josh.

"Hey how are you doing?"
"I'm ok, how's you?"
"Good, look I've got a big bash tonight I've been invited to, wanna come?"
"Sure thing, where?"
"I'll send you the details, wanna bring Johnny?"
"I don't think it will be his thing?"
"Well let me know. If he doesn't fancy it, I'll swing by and grab you?"
"Ok thanks."

Lexie hung up and text Johnny.

Hey! Josh has an invite to a big party tonight, he's asked if we wanna come? Do you? Xx

I'm gonna be running over with the band tonight if I'm honest, you go, have fun, I'll send Travis. Xx

Are you sure? It's ok I don't need babysitting. Josh did say he would come by and pick me up. Xxx

Ok fine. Go have fun, if you need anything please call, I love you x x

Johnny knew the background of Josh now, and although he knew there was nothing between Lexie and the man he couldn't help but feel slightly miffed that she would rather go out with the guy than come hang with him. He tried to brush it off, she had done so well recovering from the miscarriage just over 5 weeks ago that he didn't want to rock the boat by having a go at her. Besides maybe they needed some time with their own friends? They had spent a significant amount of time with each other over the summer.

Much later in the day, Lexie donned a mini black leather look skirt, a pale blue denim shirt tucked in and barely there heels. Her hair was big and wavy and she had put on full glam make up. It had been a good while since she got dressed up. She stood in front of the mirror and snapped a few photos. One for her social media accounts and one to send to Johnny.

Don't work too hard. I'll miss you x x

A knock on the suite door disturbed her thoughts as she posted her outfit pic on social media

It was a quote she loved from one of her songs, she clicked share and answered the door.
"Hey!" Josh said wrapping her in a hug. "Hello!! You look great" "thanks! I don't feel it." "Oh hun, it's gonna take some time. Not that I've ever been through it myself but.." "can we make a pact?" "Sure Lex, what?" "Can we not talk about it tonight? Please?" "I don't know much, but I really don't think you should bottle it up." "I'm not bottling it up, I just wanna have a good time this evening." "Ok. If you insist." Lexie nodded before they headed out. They made their way down to the underground car park and jumped in his fast sports car heading off to the party.

An hour after arriving, Josh had noticed Lexie was knocking back the cocktails, and taking advantage of the VIP hospitality. By the time Jesse had arrived with his girlfriend Zara, Lexie was fairly tipsy. She wasn't doing anything wrong but Josh and Jesse knew this wasn't the real her. "Lex, shall we grab some food?" "You can, I'm not hungry Josh." The latter looked at Jesse who shrugged, he decided to sit next to Lexie but she didn't seem to want to chat about anything too deep or personal and kept her answers short. Josh went to the bar and ordered a round of drinks, he asked for Lexie's to not have anymore booze in. He bought the tray back to the table and they all began chatting about various projects they had upcoming. In the end, Zara asked if Lexie wanted to dance which she did so they headed to the nearby crowded dance floor. Josh decided enough was enough and grabbed Lexie's phone from her bag. He typed a message to Johnny.
