Forgotten Memories

Ominis POV

"Hurry Ominis, this way!" I felt my sweater being tugged and pulled.

"Where are we going Emelisse?" I questioned the excited girl as she never loosened her grip on me.

"To the garden to have tea with Jackers of course" Emelisse said as if I were to know of her plans.

"Who's Jackers?" I rose a brow. I've been to her house plenty of times, and I have never met anyone named Jackers.

"Oh look what we have here the lovebirds on  another date" I heard Marvolo tease followed by Emelisse's sisters laughter.
"Well if that's the case I feel bad for your brother having to be burdened by our undelightful sister." I heard one of her sisters snicker. I can feel Emelisse tighten her grip on my sweater.

"Of course Lucia, As I always tell mom no man will ever want a girl like that. So bold, loud, obnoxious, and unable to wield magic.Pretty much useless for the pure bloods" I heard more laughter.I guess we were the same in that regard...the family's outcast. I felt a slight tug again against my sweater and I heard Emelisse taking a couple of steps forward.

"You want to talk about useless? Have you seen my brother he needs to be dragged around like a dog. He can't take care of himself. Who ever is burdened him has to take care of him. He's blind what good will he do other than bring shame to the Gaunt name. I mean look at him its just sad. If I were my mother I would just have tossed him to the streets and pretend he never existed in the first place. I wouldn't want my family to be trained with such trash" I heard everyone laughing. That's right no one will ever want me. My family didn't really care about me either. They only want me to carry the family name and nothing else.

"Shut up! Why must you be so cruel. If anything I'm glad he isn't like you Marvolo. I bet any woman would rather die than marry you" my eyes widened as I turned towards Emelisse. What is she doing?

"Hold your tongue Emelisse!" I heard Elena yell. "Do not embarrass our family further with your careless acts, or I will be telling father about this."

"Pshh, I could care less go on tell him Elena I don't take back anything I said. You can make fun of me all you want for all I care, Merlin you can  rip me to pieces, but I refuse to stand by and let you hurt my friend. Let's go Ominis, we don't need to be part of their stupidity".  I felt her pull harder on my sweater and almost fell forward when she did so. I couldn't believe it, this is the second time she stood up for me but why? Did she not hear what Marvolo said I'm just a burden? I stopped walking and made Emelisse jerk back. "Ominis what is it?"

"Why do you care so much about me? We have only met with one another three times, and barely know each other. You don't even know if I am a bad person, why go through all the trouble to protect me?" I questioned as I felt my chest tighten. Then I heard giggles.

"Ominis are you blind or deaf?" She kept giggling. Emelisse placed her hands in mine lightly. "Ominis, I did all that because you are my friend. You have been since the moment we met. I don't need another reason to protect you. Also I know you are a good person" I felt her poke my chest near my heart. "Sure you have been rough around the edges, and I can tell I annoy you. I knew from the beginning that you did not like me, or want to be my friend. However, you cant push me away because you are stuck with me. I know you are not like your brother tough, I can feel it. So I am not afraid of you. You also helped me the other day when I got injured at your house. I care about you Ominis, and I always will, now come on Jackers has been waiting this whole time." She gave me a quick hug, and pulled me again. Normally I hated being dragged around, but when its her I am ok with it. "Jackers meet Ominis, Ominis meet Jackers" I heard her introduce me cheerfully.
