The Savior

Jaspers POV

"Jasper!!!" Was the last thing I heard. My body was filled with warmth, however it wasn't the heat from the fire. This is the type of warmth I hadn't felt in years. The same warmth that would heat my body all over when it was cold. It was the warmth that radiated from the embrace of my mother.

"Kieran...Kieran...Kieran wake up my love" I heard the sweet voice call out. I opened my eyes and everything looked white and foggy.

"Mother?" I called of softly.

"Listen my son. You are stronger than you know" was I dreaming? I thought to myself. No, I think I died.

"You have been doing well protecting your sister. I am so proud of you" I felt tears start dripping down my cheeks.

"You have sacrificed so much for her Kieran. You have become a very strong young man"

"Mom" I cried. "I... I'm sorry"

"No. Don't be you've done well" I felt her warm hand on my cheek. "However it is not your time yet. You still have a long road ahead of you. Kieran..."

"Yes mother"

"I need you to still take care of Emelisse for me. I fear that there is danger coming"

"I promise mother..." I squeezed her hand as I cried. I looked at her warm smile before she disappeared.

"Jasper!!! Jasper!!!" I heard Penelope cry out. I opened my eyes slowly to see me surrounded by blue magic. Was that Penelope's power? I closed my eyes once more.

"Jasper please. Please wake up!!!" I felt my body wrapped in a pair of small arms as I awoke once again. There was no longer any fire. I looked up to see tears running down Penelope's cheeks. I wiped some away.

"Don't cry Penelope I'm oka.." I grunted as I felt her fall over me and embrace me tightly.

"You idiot!! I thought you were seriously injured. Why did you do that?!" She cried on my chest. My hand shook as I hesitated to grab her.

"I'm sorry I worried you" I whispered as I slowly placed a hand on her head. "Penelope the dragon"

"Don't worry the professors are distracting it from the balcony" she sat back up. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you"

"No Penelope it's okay" I grunted feeling pain on my arm.

"Don't lie to me Jasper, I barely touched you and you are wincing in pain"

"Yes, but I can manage it" I sat up.

"Alright then" I watched as she stood back up on her feet and took out her wand.

"Wait" I grabbed her hand."are you going to go alone again"

"Yes, I can manage" she smiled.

"My wands been itching for a fight" we both turned to see Sebastian standing there.

"How'd you get down here?" Penelope walked to him.

"Taking a leap of faith" he chuckled as Penelope looked mortified. "I'm only jesting princess. I have my ways" he smirked.

"Sebastian you know the rules look at Jasper"

"Yes I can see he took a beating, However sweetheart we've fought together all last year and we work perfectly together" I laughed as she scoffed.

"Fine, but I won't be to blame if you get injured"

"Ha! Don't forget who the best duelist was" I watched as they both ran over to help.

"Yeah...was!" She yelled. I watched as the two danced around the dragon battling the dragon. I smiled knowing she wasn't alone and she never would be.

"Jasper!!!" I turned my head.

"Daria?" I liked at her in confusion. "What are you doing down here" she fell to her knees and grabbed my arms.

"I heard you were injured so I snuck out without Uncle Black realizing"

"You're injured Daria" I grabbed her shoulders.

"Well I saw Penelope leave a broom so I flew it down here, however I don't really know how to ride one since father wouldn't allow me. So I fell off" I looked over as she pointed at the broken broom near some bushes.

"Daria it's dangerous you should have never come down here" I sighed.

"Yes, but I was worried about you" she handed me a wiggenweld potion. "I.. I couldn't just sit there and watch how you got injured" I looked up to her and watched her face fill with sadness.

"Daria..." I handed her back the potion. "Just drink it"

"No, I only have some scrapes you have bruises and cuts" she pushed it back.

"Daria please." She held my hand and cried.

"I thought you were gone" I grabbed her and hugged her. I guess she really did care about me after all.

"I'm okay, but I'm not happy you are injured so please take it" she opened the potion but pushed it in my mouth.

"Stop being so stubborn" she laughed. I saw some debris flying our way and I pushed her down and laid on top. Our faces really close to one another.

"I'm sorry Daria" I got up and helped her up. Her face was really red and I smiled when she looked away.

Penelope's POV

I laughed feeling the nostalgia of fighting once again next to Sebastian. We fought the dragon and watched as it finally began to weaken. The professors also jumping in to help from above.

All of a sudden the dragon released a loud roar that stopped everyone in place. The once weakened dragon had somehow managed to gather his strength back. I looked over at Sebastian and he looked worried and shook his head at me.

I however didn't listen to him as the Dragon started to take flight. We covered our faces as it flapped it's wings causing harsh wind to fly our way. I focused my magic and made the ground start to lift in chunks creating stairs for me. I leaped from rock to rock running and panting trying to catch it from above.

"Penelope stop!!!" I heard Sebastian yell as the piles of dirt fell behind me. I took in a deep breath and lunged myself to the dragon once more.I held on to its back as it flew higher and higher. I climbed it with determination as I watched his stomach glow knowing he'd most likely destroy the school even further harming those inside.

Once I reached the top of its head I tried to gather as much magic as I possibly could and with one final blow I watched as the dragon screeched and fell back. I started loosing consciousness from the amount of magic I had used up. I looked up to see the full moon glow above me.
