Fight the Raven

Ominis POV

The sounds of multiple spells blasted around my surroundings. I sat with my knees to my chest hoping that Penelope and the others were okay. My body trembled to the point where my bones began to ache. I gripped the ribbon tighter to my heart. I am not going to lose her. I will not allow myself to sit here and let her die. Flashbacks of Emelisse's voice came into mind. The sounds of her pleas and begs, and how I could do nothing to help her. I got up and tied the ribbon around my wrist.

The sounds of another pair of foot steps got closer to me. "Who's there?" No one answered. I could smell roses, rosemary, and a hint of parchment.

"Where do you think your going Gaunt?" I stopped and turned my head towards the direction of the voice. I've heard it before, but where? "Tsk tsk tsk, off to save your little girlfriend?" I turned to the other side and heard a wicked laugh.

"What do you want?" Again no answer. "Who are you?" I gripped my wand and tried to listen, but it was silent other than the roars and spells heard from afar. I fell to the ground when I felt someone shove me from behind.

The cold mud surrounding my hands and face. "You can call me the Raven" they chuckled  "You're pathetic. Not even worth my time" I felt a foot on top of my back. "I bet your brother would put up a better fight" I clenched my jaw but then grunted in pain as I felt something sharp poking my back. Was that a heel?. "I have a message from your dear mother" I tried to squirm out of their grasp but I couldn't. They just shoved their foot deeper in my back.

"Crucio!!" A yell escaped my mouth as I felt the pain course through my nerves. I panted trying to control my breathing. The wicked laugh echoed once more. "Crucio!!!" Another string of pain reached my bones. My hand loosened the grip I had on my wand. My head pounded and my heart raced. Every single bone in my body felt as if it had broken.

"Psh pathetic" my ribs burned as a kick was placed on them. I rolled on my back as grunts escaped my lips. The cold mud now cooling my back. My arms roamed searching for my wand.
"You know Ominis. I kind of liked you, but now seeing how hopeless you are.... Mmm not so much anymore" I felt them tug my hair forcefully and slam my head back down into the mud.

"What does my mother want?" the words came out low as my body was still shaking from the pain.

"Well as you can see she found a way to bring a dragon in. Oh wait I forgot" I heard another chuckle. "You can't see!" I moved my arm more trying to find my wand. "Your mother wants a certain witch gone. You might know her I mean you snogged her in front of the whole bloody school" my eyes widened in fear. "Glad we are on the same page" their footsteps moved closer to me. "She won't live to see another day, so I'm happy you had the courage and the chance to be with her. It's romantic in its own twisted way." Why did my mother want her gone? Did she know I wanted to be with her?

"She won't die so easily. She is the most powerful girl I have ever had the chance to meet" I got up and shoved the person into the bushes. I picked up my wand and readied for a fight.

"You think you can beat me? Your mother hired me for a reason Gaunt!"

"Don't underestimate me!" I smirked towards them. I tried to listen to their movements. "Protego!" I shouted when I heard a spell come close. "Depulso!" I heard their body slam against the water. Wonderful know I can hear them better. I stayed quiet and focused listening to the sounds of water dripping.

"You fucking idiot!" I smiled. We casted spells back and forth. I heard their every move and moved accordingly. All the blood sweat and tears I went through in Sebastian's training was finally paying off.

Once the sound of another spell flew my way I casted a protection spell but I wasn't fast enough. I went flying back and grunted as I tasted blood in my mouth.

"Weak!!! Pathetic trash!!!" I heard them get closer as I tried to stand back up. My legs shook and my body ached. I gripped my ribs which still stung from the kick. Another spell knocked me over. My head rate quickened while my chest rose and fell quickly. "She is going to die and you can't do anything to protect her!!" I clenched my fist in the mud. "We are going to win this battle!!!" Another kick landed on my ribs and I arched my back in pain.

"Aww what happened Gaunt. What was it that you said to me? Don't underestimate me! Psh" I heard them laugh wickedly as they stomped on my hand. Mud splashed my face and I wasn't able to get up. They came down to my face and whispered "When she dies I'm going to be parading her stupid corpse around. I'm going to burn it to ash and feed it to the pigs!" My blood boiled at the disrespect they showed to my Penelope. I grabbed mud and smashed it on their face. My hand stayed in place as I pushed them back. Where they wearing a mask?

"You got mud all over my eyes you bastard! I can't see!!" They casted spells around randomly.

"Welcome to my playing field" I chuckled. "Bombarda!" I heard them scream. I heard another spell casted my way and I rolled out of the way.

"Who do you think you are?!!!"

"Someone you shouldn't have messed with!!!" I grabbed them and tackled them down to the ground. My hand gripping the mask trying to take it off. They pushed me off and punched my face. I knew it was a girl and I normally would never lay my hands on one, but this was a different circumstance. I punched them back and heard them fall to the ground.

"You won't win! I'm not going to let you hurt her!" I got on top and grabbed them by the collar and smashed them on the ground multiple times. I felt something hard hit my head and I fell back.

"I got to admit you put up a good fight Gaunt! However if I kill you I don't get a reward" I felt them spit on my face. Their sound of their steps also faltering almost as if they were limping.

Before they walked away I grabbed a piece of glass from the ground and cut their arm. I heard as they yelled in pain and a loud thump on the ground. I fell back loosing consciousness as I gripped on part of the dress that ripped off.

Hey guys I am a bit under the weather 🤧. Im sorry I posted this late as I had to keep rereading this chapter and rewriting as I was not happy with it. Im sorry if it's not the best but I am really trying since this is my first Fic and I struggled with my first fight scene. Thank you for the love and support you have all showed me. I will try to post 2 chapters tomorrow. For those coming from Tik Tok I'm sorry that I will only be posting 1 video for this chapter.
