Birthday Wishes Part 2

Penelope's POV

As we made it up to the Astronomy Tower I couldn't help but play with the paper box in my pocket. I had a wave of thoughts brush through my mind. What if he didn't like this gift? What if he feels offended by it? My mind just kept flooding with What ifs? And different scenarios in which it will all go bad. I stopped fidgeting once we reached the entrance of my room of requirement. We walked inside and I couldn't help but stare at Ominis he looked confused and I could tell he was nervous from the new environment as he walked slowly with his wand in front of him.

"What is this place?" Ominis questioned as he rotated his head towards the ceiling. "I've roamed around the castle hundreds of times and yet I don't recall ever sensing a room here."

"It's my room of requirement. My Aunt Matilda helped me get one so that I can focus on my studies and have space to practice" I said as I looked to see if Deek was still here.

"I see so this is where you go when I can't find you" Ominis let out a soft laugh.

"You've searched for me?" I questioned.

"Miss Penelope, its lovely to see you. Deek has fed all the beast but the swamp vivarium." Deek smiled as he approached me.

"BEASTS?!" Ominis let out raising in eyebrow in confusion.

"Thank you Deek, I can handle the rest don't worry. Why don't you get some rest" I smiled. "Oh by the way Deek this is my friend Ominis" I smiled gesturing my hand towards Ominis.

"Nice to meet you Mr.Gaunt I have heard a lot about you. Deek wishes you a Happy Birthday"

"The pleasure is all mine Deek" Ominis bowed and stuck his hand out to shake Deek's hand. Oh how his politeness drove me mad. I let out a small laugh as I watched Deek jump trying to reach Ominis's hand. I approached Ominis and grabbed his arm softly and leaned it down towards Deek. Ominis let out a soft chuckle and apology.

"Deek wishes you both a good night and hope you had a wonderful day Mr.Ominis" Deek smiled as he vanished.

"So, you talk about me? I am guessing it's about my dashing good looks, and amusing personality" Ominis smirked.

"Hardly" I teased. "Come here I want to show you something" I grabbed Ominis's hand and walked him up to the swamp. I saw as he looked down to the ground listening to his feet squash though the mud. The swamp vivarium was dark, but was lit by a beautiful bright moon. I watched his foggy eyes sparkled under the stars and his pale skin glow from the light radiated by the moon. Ominis was truly a beautiful man and I couldn't help but be swooned by him every time I see him.

"you know I am blind but I can sense you staring" he smiled.

"Oh um sorry. Here stick your hand out slowly" I watched as he hesitated for a brief moment. His hand finally reached the thestral and he quickly jerked it back.

"What was that?" He panicked.

"It's okay Ominis trust me he won't hurt you, I promise" Ominis stretched his hand out once again letting out a light sigh. He gently placed his hand on the Thestral snout and slowly petted him. "His name is Zeus" I whispered "Zeus is a Thestral I rescued from a poacher camp." I watched as Ominis face turn into a frown and looked over towards my direction.
