The Secrets I Keep (Ominis Gaunt X Fem MC)

Penelope's POV

When we woke up we quickly finished last minute arrangements. Over on the hill we placed chairs in flowers for the ceremony and it looked absolutely beautiful. The air smelled like daisies and honey. We then walked over to where the reception would be and arranged the centerpieces on the tables. Mother and Matilda started cooking as everyone else started to prepare themselves.

I had gone first the warm water helping my tired muscles relax. I hummed as I felt at ease. When I went to my room Aria stood by a chair and waved me to sit. I smiled and sat in front of the mirror. I watched as she pulled out a brush and  combed my hair.

"Your hair has gotten longer it is very pretty" she said as she hummed a tune. Once she finished brushing my hair she placed half my hair up with braids. I smiled at the beautiful memory we will share for the rest of our life.

"So I'm guessing you like Ominis" she smirked as she helped me in my dress.

"I don't know for certain but I know I care for him a lot." I blushed.

"Sounds like someone is in love"

"I wouldn't call it that. I want to be with him I really do it's just I feel like I don't deserve him sometimes" I watched as aria frowned and leaned down in front of my knees.

"Emi you are a very strong girl who cares about others so much. Ominis sees that and that's probably why he likes you so much. You've helped so many people last year and if there is anyone more deserving of love it's you" she patted my knee and got up. " Just have fun tonight okay don't worry about it. It will come naturally you'll see. Also that necklace around your neck is absolutely stunning, it brings out the green in your eyes" she laughed softly as she walked out of the room.

Ominis POV

"How do I look Sebastian?"

"Like a million galleons" Sebastian said loudly.

"Thank you" I kept adjusting my hair anxiously thinking it was out of place.

"Ominis calm down I doubt Penelope will care so much about your hair. If you keep brushing it you will go bald" he chuckled.

"I just want it to be perfect. I asked her on a date and I must fulfill my duty and make it the best night I can" I said looking down at my wand.

"So are you going to plant one on her then?" I didn't say anything but let out a low sigh. I then felt Sebastian grip my shoulder and turn me towards him.

"Ominis what is really going on?" I hated that he could read me like a book but I guess that's what it means to be a best friend.

"Penelope doesn't see me that way. She sees me as only a friend."

"What? Ominis I know your blind but I didn't think you were completely blind" he spat

"Well if you must know Sebastian I am completely blind" I waved my hand in front of my face. "That's probably one of the reasons she won't date me Sebastian. She has to take care of me because I can't bloody see anything like everyone else. Im a Gaunt who despises his family yet their blood runs through my veins. My family are dark wizards who hunt muggles for sport. Don't you see I am not good for her"

"Stop being so negative Ominis we both know Penelope doesn't care about such things. She loves everyone without discrimination and without caring about their name. She loves unconditionally and you should just give it a chance before someone takes the opportunity from you" I heard Sebastian frustratingly pacing around the room.
