AN: Howdy.

~Clint~

I was meeting Nat outside of the school as usual. She said she wanted to do something with me today. We both had to move after the incident in our last school. Being the new kids at this one was a nightmare. Vampires ruled the world. Unlucky enough for me, I was one. Nat was too. Sadly for both of us, we were ranked pretty high. This brought a lot of unwanted attention to the both of us. After news broke of our last school, people would not stop asking us questions. How are you supposed to explain that you're father is an awful person and treats you like shit? How do you explain that he came up to your school going on a rampage and put some kids in the hospital while he was looking for you? How do you deny the video of yourself being dragged out of the school by your arm? There was no way of answering any of these. My father was now put away, so the rest of the family moved. People at our old school were not very fond of us after this. Nat was in the video arguing with my father as he dragged me out. She was also not happy about what he had done, but she was also not going to let me move away and never see her again. She decided to come with. Her parents didn't mind since they were good friends with my mother and wanted to support her.

My brother met me with some kids I didn't recognize following him over. He smiled and put an arm around me shoulders when he came up to me. "Hey, you meeting Nat again?" I nodded, looking at his friends unsure about them. He noticed, but just rolled his eyes. "Clint, this is Bucky, Steve, and Tony. They are in a lot of the same classes as me. Guys this is my little brother Clint" they nodded and shook hands with me. They were also obviously vampires. Nat finally made her entrance "You would think people would move faster in the hallways when school got out. I would want to get out quickly". I shook my head and she leaned on my shoulder after moving Barney's hand. "This is my spot to lean on mister" Barney shook his head "I was here first". She flipped him off and I ignored them. I made eye contact with the Tony guy. He was staring me down. Nat grabbed my arm "Come on, we have things to do". She dragged me behind her while my brother waved. "Do you have to drag me?" she nodded with a smile "Yep, let's go". I huffed in annoyance, but her and I both knew I was not serious. "Where are we going?" she smiled mischivously "We are going to go to your house because I miss your mom". I nodded skeptically "Right, you mean you miss her cooking".

She pushed me towards her car "That too". She drove to my house, where my mom's car was parking in the driveway. She parked off to the side and ran up to the door. She ran inside and right into the kitchen "Mrs Barton! You're favorite child is here". I walked into the kitchen behind Nat, who was giving my mom a one armed hug and looking at what she was cooking. I shook my head and walked over to them "Smells good mom". She smiled "Thanks honey. Can you and Nat set the table for me?". I nodded and grabbed the plates while Nat grabbed the forks. "Set up 3 more please. Your brother wants me to meet his new friends" I knew I was not going to have fun at this dinner. They would just be asking questions about everything around what had happened at my old school. I knew damn well that that's all they wanted to know about. It was Barney's life though, so he could pretend that they were actually his friends if he wanted to. We set up the table and helped my mom finish up dinner. She was making pasta since it was an easy dish for a lot of people. Soon, the front door opened. Voices filled the corridor. I was busy stirring the sauce, so my mom went to go get them. I was stirring when a voice in my ear made me jump "Boo". I elbowed Barney in the ribs before I continued stirring "You're such an asshole". He laughed and leaned against the counter next to me "Aw, love you too". I rolled my eyes before flinging some of the sauce at him. His jaw dropped as his face had dropplets of sauce running down. He picked up some of the onion powder and blew it into my face. I dropped the spoon into the sauce and wiped at my now watering eyes "No fair. I didn't go for your eyes".

He laughed before Nat took the spoon and started stirring. "Alright boys, that's enough. Charles help your brother find the water to get the onion powder out of his eyes. Can't have him going blind. Temporary or not" Barney grabbed my shoulder and led me over to the sink like mom told him to. "Lean backwards" I did and he sprayed water into my face. My eyes felt better immediately as the powder was leaving my eyes. He tossed a towel to me since water was all over my face and hair. I flipped him off, which made him laugh. I dried my face, but left my hair alone. It would dry on it's own anyway. I then registered the others staring me down. I turned and went back to helping my mom. Nat took my spot, so I was just left the stand next to her and tell her she was doing everything wrong even though she wasn't. She finally huffed "Can you do something other than bother me? Like changing your soaked shirt?". I shrugged "That's no fun, but I can. Just for you". She rolled her eyes playfully while I made my way to Barney and I's shared room. I changed my shirt into a plain black one. When I got downstairs, everyone was already sitting at the table while my mom was making her way over with the food. I was stuck sitting between Barney and the Tony guy. Just my luck to get stuck next to the guy with a staring problem. I have felt his eyes on me since he got here. My mom sat next to the guy names Steve and Nat. "So boys, how did you guys meet? In class?" Barney nodded, but Steve answered verbally. "Yes ma'am. We have the same English class together" I was surprised by the way he sounded.
