"You're going love it, I promise!" Dex's confidence was almost enough to wash the doubts running around her mind.

"It's a private party Sana-ah, we can relax," His hands landed softly over her waist from behind as he looked at their reflection in the mirror, "You look beautiful tonight. Wouldn't it be a waste if people didn't see you in this dress?"

Sana allowed a light chuckle to leave her lips at the compliment seeing Dex's face light up with a proud smile, his arms wrapped around her waist more firmly as he leaned close enough to kiss her cheek a few times.

"We can always come back whenever you want," his voice turned low as the tip of his nose rose the shell of her ear, "I'm in for whatever you please."

Her fingers traced a line over the muscle of his forearm as her eyes stayed still over the mirror, attached to the picture-perfect couple they made, even if it was still full of lies and secrets. The sharp line of his jaw tensed when her head lifted just a few inches, just enough for him to plant a kiss under her ear.

Their dynamic in moments like those felt almost like a chess game for Sana, she knew exactly what string to pull for him to react in certain ways. She could have convinced him that the party was an awful idea or that his expectations about the rest of their night would be nothing but disappointing if she wanted to. Being with Dex felt more like a game than a relationship to her, everybody else seemed to be content about it anyways, even Dex himself as his lips left feather-like kisses over the pearly skin of her neck.

In brief moments of time, Sana thought about breaking up with him, especially when he seemed honestly interested in building a stable relationship with her, she thought about it after almost every date they had, she practised exactly what she had to say and how she had to say it not to hurt the man's heart by her rejection but before she could even say a word the media got involved. Her name and Dex's suddenly appeared in almost every magazine, every celebrity blog on the internet was already boiling with opinions about their supposedly perfect relationship.

Their next drama was about to air and the weight of their relationship was making wonders in the public eye, two actors who found love on the set, wasn't it perfect? Both beautiful and young and always looking madly in love with each other because, well, after all Sana was everything a man could ask for and Dex was capable of stealing almost every heart in the room with a single smile.

What else could they ask for?

That's what Sana repeated to herself over and over again as her hand reached Dex's tightly as they walked down a pitch black hallway, she could already hear the bass of the music coming from the end of it buzzing against the walls. A pair of red satin curtains kept them for seeing the crowd on the party and Sana had to give an applause to whoever rich idiot hosted the night because the moment one of the guards handed them a pair of black and white masks she knew that party was meant to creates many situations that tomorrow would be called mistakes.

"Let's have fun, okay?" Dex's eyes seemed to sparkle when his fingers tied the lacy straps of the mask behind Sana's head. She saw the excitement grow under his skin making his usually innocent smile turn into a hungry grin before kissing her lips.

Parties weren't usually Sana's thing but that night the idea of escaping the pressure of the whole bunch of meetings and the thoughts in her own head was way too tempting to ignore, so she followed Dex into the crowd of moving bodies that swayed to the rhythm of music like a wave. Neon lights moved across the room reflecting of the different masks, some with horns, some with animalistic shapes, that party was constructed for someone who seemed to know their guests because Sana knew half of those people wouldn't be doing those things without the fake sense of safety the weight of the mask gave to them.

"Cheers to us, baby!" Dex exclaimed after handing her a glass of what seemed like tequila.

Strangers came and went to greet them like they were close friends, some even hugged them and it only took two more drinks for Dex to disappear into the crowd with somebody else. Sana couldn't care less, she was there for the free drinks and the endless distractions, whoever was able to seduce her boyfriend on that dance floor was the last of her worries. She finished up her third cocktail in one long sip, feeling the alcohol burn down her throat and down to her stomach. It had been a long time since she allowed herself to drink so publicly, almost since her last night with Tzuyu months ago.

Maybe that was one of her own mistakes, Sana thought as she quickly ordered another drink, maybe if she'd had been in her correct senses she would have stopped her own tongue for saying things she then regretted to the younger woman.

"This is ridiculous," Sana mumbled to herself as she covered her red tinted lips with the edge of the glass.

Once again, in another desperate attempt to make her mind drift as far as possible from her disastrous love affair, she focused on the dancing couples around her. Some seemed too close from doing something that she wouldn't want to witness, a couple of men deciding to get rid of their shirts in the middle of the flashing lights and right when she was about to lose her interest, she spotted a singular couple between the crowd.

Two tall women danced closely to each other, all in perfect sync with the beating rhythm of the bass, the blonde's arms wrapped around her partner's neck as the other's hands ran down her body, from her sides to her back. Sana found herself smiling at their little game, she knew exactly how it felt to be put in that teasing position.

Maybe it was the whisky on her glass or the proximity of the bodies around her, or any other silly excuse she could invent to excuse the sudden rush of heat making its way under her skin. The music changed into something slower suddenly, the bass heavy in her ears as she kept her focus in the distant couple across the room, the dress of the blonde girl left very little to the imagination and Sana felt her own breath get stuck in her throat when the perfectly manicured nails dug lightly into the skin of her exposed back under the colourful neon lights.

A sudden urge grew under her skin as her head turned lighter with every sway of their hips, her teeth trapped her lower lip in a tight bite as she shifted her attention to the dark haired dancer that had not only her partner but her on the edge of their sanity. A golden devil mask covered half of her face, the horns were painted red almost like she had to have a warning attached to her, the pitch black hair covered the side of her face as she leaned to whisper something in her partner's ear. Sana itched to know, she wondered how her voice would sound, how her rapid breath felt against the side of her neck...

The music changed once again and the lights sparked to the new beat suddenly flashing bright white, clear enough for Sana to catch the exposed half of the dancer with perfect clarity... she almost falls out of her chair.

Eyes as sharp as knives looked back at her across the crowd and under the mask, her red glossy lips curved into a knowing smirk as she looked up directly into her gaze that desperately tried to spot the only mark that could make sure it wasn't all a product of her own dizzying thoughts; that dimple.

It was her.

Sana's mouth was suddenly dry as she saw the dancer make her way between the crowd like she had a mission to accomplish, like an animal ready for the hunt.

She should have stayed at the hotel.

She should have waited for Dex at the hotel.

Her body seemed to have forgotten how to function when the dancer's warm hand landed over the exposed skin of her knee with confidence. It would have made Sana furious in a sane state, the smell of her perfume filled her lungs by the time the dancer's free hand moved to lift her mask away from her face as she smiled back at Sana with nothing but hunger behind the caramel-like gaze.

"Weren't you going to greet me, Satang?" Tzuyu's voice whispered against her cheek.
