1st year

"What is Quidditch?" Minatozaki Sana asked, confused and hating it. Every day she was introduced to something new and every day someone gave her a disdainful look and rolled their eyes at her lack of knowledge. How could she not know what Bertie Bott's Every Flavoured Beans was? Didn't she know that Chocolate Frogs actually jumped? Of course portraits could move and talk to her, what was she, daft? And now, Sana thought, cheeks flaming as her fellow 2nd years stared at her in open dismay, she could add not knowing what Quidditch was to her growing list of 'Wizarding Things I Need to Know About and Don't.'

Honestly, it wasn't her fault that she had spent the entirety of last year catching up on whatever the school was teaching.

"Are you serious, Sana unnie?" Dahyun demanded, "You've really never heard of Quidditch before?"

"Well, Professor McGonagall mentioned it at the beginning of last year, but I don't—" Sana began to explain before Dahyun interrupted her with a loud laugh.

"How could you never have heard of Quidditch before?"

Sana's cheeks were bright red and she could feel tears starting to prick her eyes. "I won't cry," she told herself determinedly, "It's not your fault you don't know."

What did she care if her fellow classmates and juniors were staring at her like she'd grown a third head or were laughing at her? Again. She couldn't help that she was muggleborn, or that Momo hadn't told her about Quidditch.

She was jerked out of her pep talk when Dahyun waved her hands in front of her face, "Hello? Sana unnie? Did you hear a word I said?"

Sana shook her head, biting her lip as her classmates' laughter started up again. "I'm sorry," Sana stammered, feeling very stupid and little, "Could you repeat that?"

Dahyun grinned and folded her arms in front of her chest, looking very smug. Sana was suddenly reminded of when she first met Dahyun on the train to Hogwarts. The girl had been insufferably arrogant then, along with her partner-in-crime Chou Tzuyu.

Actually, Sana realised, eyes narrowing suspiciously, it was very odd to see Dahyun without Tzuyu at her side, joining in on the taunting. She was wondering where the other girl was when she heard, with a sinking heart, Tzuyu's voice pipe up from the back of the crowd as she pushed her way through, "What's this? Sana unnie doesn't know what Quidditch is?"

Sana groaned and rolled her eyes. She wasn't sure how, since she was normally a cheerful, easygoing type of girl, but Chou Tzuyu and her smirk and perfect hair and stupid glasses made her furious. Just the sound of her voice put Sana on edge, ready for battle. They had gotten off on the wrong foot months ago, when the Slytherin pair had teased her about not knowing that the Sorting Hat was an actual talking hat.

Tzuyu had made her way through the crowd by now and was standing next to Dahyun, looking as smug as her friend.

"That's right," Sana answered, glaring at Tzuyu, "I don't know what Quidditch is. I'm a Muggle-born, remember?"

"How could we forget?" Tzuyu shared a look with Dahyun, who instantly started shrieking in a high-pitched voice, "Oh my goodness, the portraits are talking!" The crowd around them started giggling as Dahyun cowered behind Tzuyu.

Anger and humiliation burned in Sana's stomach and she felt the familiar prick of tears, now born out of frustration.

"You two think you're so clever!" Sana fumed, folding her arms, "But you're not! You're nothing more than...than...horrible bullies!"

Dahyun straightened and moved to Tzuyu's side and they both smirked at her, Tzuyu pushing her big glasses back up her nose.

"Quidditch is only the best sport in the entire world, Satang," Tzuyu responded, ignoring her insult and glare, "Everyone in the Wizarding World follows it. You play it on brooms, and there's chasers and beaters and a keeper and of course, the seeker."
