As Sage strolled deeper into Viridian Forest and admire the towering trees and listening to the lively sounds of nature, a sudden commotion caught her attention as the sounds of buzzing wings and a frantic cry echoed through the forest alerting her to a nearby battle.
Sage sprinted toward the noise as curiosity and concern was filling her heart.
She came to a small clearing and gasped as she saw a group of angry, wild Pokémon that looked like enormous bees with sharp stingers were swooping down at a Pikachu, which was desperately trying to dodge their attacks.
Sage quickly pointed her Rotom Phone at the aggressive Pokémon.
Beedrill, the Poison Bee Pokémon. Bug and Poison Type. Beedrill attacks in swarms and are known for their aggressive, territorial behavior. They can be very dangerous when disturbed."
Sage's eyes widened.
Beedrill... and there's a whole swarm of them! That poor Pikachu doesn't stand a chance alone!" Sage thought and without hesitation she grabbed Pidgey's Poké Ball.
Pidgey, I choose you!" Sage shouted as she tossed the Poké Ball and Pidgey appeared, fluttering in mid-air as it looked ready to defend the distressed Pikachu.
Alright, Pidgey, use Tackle on those Beedrill!" Sage commanded.
Pidgey lunged forward and rammed into one of the Beedrill and drawing its attention away from Pikachu but with so many Beedrill swarming around, Pidgey was quickly overwhelmed and was soon narrowly dodging their venomous stingers as it weaved through the air.
Come on, Pidgey! I know you can do this!" Sage shouted as she was trying to motivate her friend.
Just then, as if fueled by her encouragement, Pidgey's wings began to flap with renewed strength as a powerful gust of wind burst from its wings and began swirling toward the Beedrill with force.
Pidgey... you learned Gust!" Sage cheered in excitement as the sudden blast of wind sent the Beedrill spinning backward and after a moment, they decided it wasn't worth the fight. Buzzing angrily, they flew away and disappeared into the depths of the forest.
As the dust settled, Sage turned her attention to the Pikachu who lay trembling and weak on the ground as she knelt beside it and quickly realized something was wrong.
Pikachu's breathing was shallow and its fur looked dull.
Sage's Rotom Phone beeped, displaying a status for Pikachu: Poisoned.
Oh no, you're poisoned..." Sage whispered as her heart sank as she scooped up Pikachu gently.
Hold on, we'll find help" Sage said.
With urgency in her voice, she called to her team.
Charmander, Eevee, Pidgey, we need to find someone who can help us find an antidote or something for Pikachu's poison" Sage said.
Charmander sniffed the air while Eevee and Pidgey kept their eyes on the path ahead and was searching for anyone who might be able to help.
They walked deeper into the forest as they were looking for anyone who could assist them.
After a few tense minutes, Sage spotted a man fishing by a small pond nearby as she hurried over and was cradling Pikachu in her arms.
Excuse me, sir! My friend here is poisoned. Do you know what I can do?" Sage asked.
The fisherman turned as his face was creased with concern as he spotted the weakened Pikachu.
Ah, looks like you ran into some Beedrill," The fishermen said as he was eyeing the marks on Pikachu's body.
That poison won't go away on its own. What you need is a Pecha Berry—it'll cure the poison right up" The fishermen said.
"Where can I find one?" Sage asked as she was glancing around the forest.
Lucky for you, Pecha Berries grow in these woods but they're hidden away so try looking in shaded spots under the big trees," The fishermen suggested.
Thank you so much!" Sage nodded gratefully as she then looked to her Pokémon.
Alright, team, let's split up and find a Pecha Berry as fast as we can!" Sage said
With that, Charmander, Eevee and Pidgey fanned out and began searching the undergrowth while Sage carefully scanned the area for any sign of the pink berry.
She pushed through the bushes, lifted up branches and even checked under some large leaves.
Finally, after a few moments, Pidgey let out an excited chirp. Sage rushed over to see her little bird Pokémon standing beside a small bush with round, pink berries hidden beneath it.
Pidgey, you did it!" Sage praised as picked one of the berries as she quickly returned to the fisherman who showed her how to feed it to Pikachu.
Here you go, Pikachu," Sage murmured softly as she held the berry to its mouth as Pikachu weakly nibbled on the Pecha Berry and after a moment, its breathing steadied and its eyes opened wider as a bit of color returned to its cheeks and it looked up at Sage with gratitude.
There you go, little buddy. You're going to be okay" Sage said as she smiled warmly at the Pikachu.
Pikachu sat up as its strength was slowly returning and it rubbed its cheek affectionately against her arm as Sage giggled and petted Pikachu gently.
You were very brave back there, Pikachu. You're welcome to come along with me if you'd like" Sage offered as she held out an empty Poké Ball.
Pikachu looked at the Poké Ball for a moment before tapping it with its paw as it willingly joined Sage's team as the Poké Ball clicked shut, confirming the catch.
Welcome to the team, Pikachu!" Sage said
With her team by her side, Sage continued her journey through Viridian Forest as she was ready to face whatever new adventures that awaited her.
