Sage and Red had just left the Safari Zone but their paths were about to diverge as Red had decided to take on the Gym first, eager to challenge its leader and get his fifth gym badge quickly.
Meanwhile, Sage felt a pull toward a different kind of preparation: her Pokémon team was strong but she knew there was always room for improvement as the Pokémon Center was a natural stop.

Sage arrived at the Pokemon center as Nurse Joy greeted her with a warm smile and quickly healed Sage team for her as Sage thanked Nurse joy and sat down as she began thinking about the TM maker machine and while her team was already powerful, there a few Pokemon that could benefit from getting new moves such as Shadebark, Pidgeot and Charizard.
Sage approach the TM maker machine as she wanted something for Shadebark that is both useful and tactical in battle.
Sage typed in the name "Spirit Howl" and selected the Ghost type from the list as the machine buzzed to life and Sage eagerly watched as it produced a sleek, new TM.
Her Rotom Phone buzzed in response, scanning the TM and displaying the information:

The machine hummed again as it produced another TM. Sage eagerly scanned it with her Rotom Phone, which displayed the details:

Sage's heart swelled with pride as Charizard had gained a powerful new attack and Sage couldn't wait to see it in action but she wasn't finished yet as there was one more Pokémon who could use a new move and Sage knew exactly what to do.
Sage quickly got to work and after some planning the TM maker machine made a TM for Sage that would be perfect.

This move would be perfect for Pidgeot and Sage was confident it would be a great addition to its arsenal.
She quickly taught Pidgeot the move and watched as the Rotom Phone updated its moveset:
