Red wasn't about to back down and with a quick motion, he recalled his fallen Primeape and sent out his third Pokémon: Arcanine the legendary Pokémon.
Sage's Rotom Phone buzzed as it scanned Arcanine and the Pokedex displayed the following:
Arcanine the Legendary Pokémon: This Pokemon known for its speed and power, Arcanine is a majestic and fiercely loyal Pokémon, capable of incredible feats of strength and agility.
Sage knew she had to be careful, so she called upon Espeon, her psychic companion as the beautiful Psychic-type Pokémon appeared in a flash of light as it was ready for battle.
Arcanine use Crunch!" Sage called out.
Arcanine charged toward Espeon with incredible speed with its fangs bared as Sage quickly reacted.
Espeon use Swift!" Sage commanded as Espeon launched a flurry of star-shaped projectiles but Arcanine dodged the attack nimbly and closed the distance and with a swift motion, Arcanine bit down hard on Espeon with its powerful jaws.
Sage winced as she watched Espeon struggle against the bite.
Espeon use Psychic!" Sage called out.
Espeon's eyes glowed with a soft blue light and it used its psychic powers to push Arcanine back, sending the Fire-type Pokémon sliding across the battlefield as Red wasn't done yet.
Arcanine use Flamethrower!" Red ordered.
Arcanine unleashed a fiery stream of flames, aimed directly at Espeon as Sage's heart raced but she was quick to react.
Espeon, dodge and use Psychic Ball!" Sage shouted.
Espeon swiftly evaded the Flamethrower and conjured a swirling ball of psychic energy and with a focused flick, Espeon hurled the ball at Arcanine.
The attack hit its mark and Arcanine let out a growl, clearly feeling the power of the psychic assault.
Arcanine use Flame Wheel!" Red shouted as he was determined to take control of the battle.
Arcanine ignited its body and rolled toward Espeon as the fire type Pokemon was surrounded by a ring of flames.
Espeon, counter with Zen Headbutt!" Sage ordered.
Espeon charged forward, its forehead glowing with psychic energy as the two Pokémon collided in mid-air, their attacks creating a shockwave that rattled the ground.
Both Pokémon staggered back, showing signs of wear but neither was ready to give up.
Arcanine use Flamethrower, point-blank!" Red said with a serious expression.
Arcanine closed the distance quickly and released another devastating Flamethrower, hitting Espeon directly as the flames engulfed Espeon as Sage gasped as the Psychic-type Pokémon was sent tumbling through the air and landed next to Sage.
Espeon!" Sage exclaimed, rushing to her Pokémon's side.
Are you alright?" Sage asked with worry in her tone.
Espeon shakily got to its feet and gave a small nod, though its fur was singed from the intense flames.
Sage could sense something different about Espeon—her Pokémon seemed more relaxed as if something had shifted.
Alright, Espeon, let's finish this. Use Psychic!" Sage called out.
Espeon's eyes glowed again and with a determined cry, it used its psychic powers to lift Arcanine into the air as the Fire Pokémon struggled but the force of Espeon's psychic attack sent it reeling, causing it to stagger back.
Arcanine use Flamethrower again!" Red said as he gritted his teeth.
Arcanine tried to retaliate with one last burst of flame but Sage was already ahead of him.
Espeon use Swift!" Sage called out
Espeon's eyes glowed blue once more and this time, instead of the usual star-shaped projectiles, Espeon released a dazzling light as the light was so bright that it hit Arcanine with such powerful force that caused the legendary Pokemon to faint.
Sage stood in shock for a moment, staring at her Espeon.
Espeon... that wasn't Swift" Sage mumbled.
Sage Rotom Phone buzzed again and the updated Pokedex entry for Espeon appeared:

Red recalled his fainted Arcanine, his face showing a mixture of admiration and frustration.
You're really something, Sage. I still have one more Pokémon left" Red said with a small nod.
Let's go, Red. I'm not backing down" Sage said with a smirk.
With both trainers preparing for the final round, the battle was far from over, and the stakes were higher than ever.
