As Sage ventured deeper into Viridian Forest, she noticed an unusual sight. Swarms of Beedrill buzzed through the trees as there were more beedrills as Sage was slightly overwhelmed as she never seen this much beedrill in her life.
Why are there so many Beedrill around here?" Sage murmured to herself as for safety, she decided to return all her Pokémon to their Poké Balls because If the Beedrill were stirring up by something, she didn't want her team to get caught in the chaos.
Continuing along the path, Sage soon spotted a familiar face in the distance. A young man with spiky brown hair and a rugged vest was examining the forest floor and looking around cautiously.
She recognized him instantly from her research on Kanto Gym Leaders—it was Brock, the Pewter City Gym Leader!
Taking a deep breath, Sage approached him.
Excuse me, are you... Brock?" Sage asked politely.
That's me. And who might you be?" Brock asked with a small smile on his face.
I'm Sage! I'm a Pokémon Trainer, and I'm on my way to Pewter City to challenge you for a Gym Badge," Sage explained eagerly.
Nice to meet you, Sage. Normally, I'd be glad to accept a challenge but right now, we've got a serious problem on our hands" Brock said as Sage was confused.
Brock gestured toward a small, winding path deeper into the forest as Sage squinted her eyes and spotted two familiar faces as her heart sank as she recognized the Team Rocket grunts from the Pokémon Center in Viridian City who tried to steal the Pokemon's.
They were poking and prodding around and seemingly disturbing a large Beedrill nest.
Team Rocket again... That explains why all the Beedrill are so violent and upset!" Sage said as she clenched her fists in anger.
If they keep this up, they'll make the entire swarm aggressive, and that's bad news for everyone in the forest. We need to stop them before things get out of control" Brock said.
Together, they approached the grunts who noticed them and sneered.
Well, well, if it isn't the kid from the Pokémon Center and look she brought a friend" The woman who introduces herself as Nova said.
You're not getting in the way of Team Rocket's plans. We're here to take what we need, and that includes the Pokémon in this forest" The man who introduces himself as Brick said.
I don't think so. You're about to learn why it's a bad idea to mess with a Gym Leader" Brock said seriously.
Let's handle this together, Sage," Brock said as he gave her an encouraging nod.
Nova and Brick each pulled out a Poké Ball as they sent out a Zubat and a Koffing as Sage felt her heart beat faster with anticipation as she reached for her own Poké Ball.
Alright, let's go, Caterpie!" Sage called as released her small but determined Bug-type Pokémon as Brock sent out his Geodude as he was ready to assist Sage in the battle.
