Sage felt a rush of urgency as she tightened a oversized firefighter uniform around herself as It was clunky and heavy but she didn't care as she was getting ready to enter the burning museum as her determination to save the little girl outweighed any discomfort she felt.
She cast one last glance at Brock and the crying woman who was watching her with hope and desperation in their eyes as Sage nodded to the woman and Brock and ran inside the burning museum.
(Scene Change)
The moment Sage stepped inside the oppressive heat hit her like a wall as flames licked the walls and smoke curled through the air making it hard to see and even harder to breathe.
The crackling sounds of burning wood and the distant crashes of collapsing debris filled her ears but Sage kept her focus sharp as she released her Poké Balls and Pidgey and Pikachu appeared beside herhow the
Pidgey, Pikachu, I need you both to search for the little girl!" Sage shouted over the roar of the flames.
Pikachu's ears perked up and Pidgey gave a determined chirp as they immediately took off and began darting through the burning wreckage to locate the girl.
Sage watched as her Pokemon disappeared into the smoky distance as she was feeling a pang of hope as she pulled out her Rotom Phone which began detecting the Magmar's heat signatures on an upper floor.
Sage heart raced as these Pokémon were powerful and in a confined space like this, their flames only intensified the danger as Sage wondered how Magmar's even managed to enter the museum let alone Pewter City.
Moments later, Pikachu and Pidgey returned as they immediately began tugging insistently on the sleeves of Sage bulky uniform as they wanted her to follow them.
Sage braced herself and followed her Pokémon as they led her to the western wing of the museum.
Sage arrived In a room and in the corner of the room, Sage saw a small girl with tear-streaked cheeks trapped under a toppled metal beam as the child looked up with wide, frightened eyes and her face was pale beneath the dirt and soot and her tiny voice called out weakly.
Help..." the little girl said.
Sage's heart squeezed but she pushed her emotions aside.
Don't worry! We're going to get you out of here" Sage said reassuringly.
Quickly, Sage released her Charmeleon who immediately surveyed the scene as it was ready to help.
Charmeleon use Metal Claw on that beam!" Sage commanded.
Charmeleon's claws glowed a steely silver as it brought its claws down on the metal beam as it was attempting to cut through but despite its strength the beam wouldn't budge as it was too heavy and Charmeleon was struggling against the solid steel.
Pidgey try using Gust to help!" Sage called as she was hoping that the combined effort might weaken the beam.
Pidgey flapped its wings furiously as it was creating a strong wind that swirled through the room but even this wasn't enough as the beam remained stubbornly intact.
Pikachu was watching intently as it seemed to grow more determined by the second as It dashed forward and with a fierce resolve it began slamming its tail against the metal beam as it was trying to help in any way it could.
Sage noticed the electricity sparking from Pikachu cheeks as it put every ounce of strength into each hit.
Pikachu be careful!" Sage shouted but Pikachu wasn't listening as It clenched its eyes shut and began charging all its energy into one powerful strike.
Suddenly, Pikachu's tail began to glow with a bright, silvery light and with a shout of "Pika!" it swung its tail one last time as the tail was now hardened like metal and it sliced clean through the beam which split in half with a loud clang.
Iron Tail... Pikachu, you did it!" Sage cheered as she hugged Pikachu.
With the beam now broken, Sage gently lifted the little girl into her arms.
I've got you" Sage whispered as she was holding the child close as Sage quickly recalled her Pokémon as she wanted to keep them safe as the building grew increasingly unstable.
Just as she was about to make her way out, Sage caught a glimpse of something strange—a shadowy figure slipping out of a nearby broken window as she squinted her eyes as she was trying to make out any details but the smoke made it difficult to see.
Sage didn't have time to think about it now as the building was on the brink of collapse.
With the girl in her arms, Sage bolted for the exit as she was dodging falling debris and jumping over smoldering wreckage as every second counted as the structure groaned and shuddered and the fire consuming everything in its path.
Finally, Sage saw daylight through the entrance and pushed forward as she ignoring the pain in her legs from running and the weight of the firefighter uniform.
Just as Sage stumbled out of the museum a deafening crash sounded behind her as she shielded the girl as the museum collapsed in a cloud of dust, rubble and ash.
Sage turned around as her eyes widened in shock as she saw the building reduced to ruins as Sage didn't notice her glasses was missing.
Brock and the woman ran over as relief was flooding their faces as the woman was crying tears of joy as she took her daughter from Sage's arms.
Thank you... thank you so much!" the woman sobbed as her gratitude was overwhelming.
You're something else, Sage. Not many people would have had the courage to go in there alone. You saved her" Brock smiled
I... I just did what needed to be done" Sage sais shyly as the ambulance came and escorted Sage and the little girl to the hospital for health evaluation.
