The gravity of the situation weighed on her but she knew what she had to do as Sage took a deep breath and took out a Pokéball and threw it up and said.
Pidgeot, I need you!" Sage called out with a burst of light, her loyal Flying-type Pokémon appeared with its majestic wings stretching wide as it let out a sharp cry.
Pidgeot flapped its wings and landed besides Sage as it was ready for her command.
Blue, Leaf and Daisy turned toward her as Blue raised an eyebrow.

Sage began thinking as she let her mind wandered a bit.
The final battle against Team Rocket was approaching and she knew she had to give it her all as Giovanni, Koga and the rest of Team Rocket were too close to awakening Aviation—an event that could throw all of Kanto into chaos.
Sage wasn't just fighting for herself.
She was fighting for the Pokémon and people of Kanto, for Red, who had just learned the painful truth about his father and for the freedom of the region.
Sage furrowed her brows as she thought about Koga.
What made him join Team Rocket?" she wondered aloud as she was still trying to figure out why Koga joined Team Rocket because for Sabrina at least Sage knows her story but what compelled Koga to join Team Rocket
Then there was Giovanni himself as Sage wondered if she could take some sense into Giovanni or if he was to far gone in his pursuit or power as Sage felt sad that Red couldn't join the final battle against Team Rocket but she understood where he was coming from as it was hard to imagine that the very same person you have been searching for was the boss of Team Rocket.
Sage looked up and smiled once she saw Pallet town in the distance as a wave of nostalgia hit her as she gazed at the small houses, the rolling green fields and the lab where Professor Oak worked tirelessly.
Sage smiled as she remembered the beginning of her journey, the day she walked into Professor Oak's lab and chose Charmander as her first Pokémon as that moment was still one of the happiest days of her life.
Sage patted Pidgeot's side.
Let's go!" Sage said softly as Pidgeot responded with a cry and sped up and within moments, they had crossed over the fields and were descending toward Sage's house.
With a smooth landing, Pidgeot touched down right next to the familiar home where she had grown up.
Sage slid off and gave her Pokémon a grateful pat on the head.
You did great, Pidgeot. Get some rest" Sage said as she recalled Pidgeot back into its Pokéball.
Sage took a deep breath as she took in the fresh, familiar air of Pallet Town as the peacefulness of the town was a sharp contrast to the chaos she had just escaped from in Saffron City.
Now, all she had to do was wait for Blue, Leaf and Daisy to arrive.
Sage turned her gaze toward the horizon.
The real battle was about to begin.
