The stadium was electric with anticipation as the final battle between Sage and Blue reached its climax.
Sage recalled Pikachu who had given it his all and sent out Shadebark her mysterious Grass/Ghost-type Pokémon.
The shadows seemed to swirl around Shadebark and the crowd buzzed with curiosity about the rare Pokémon.
Blue, not to be outdone, recalled Pidgeot and sent out his Ace: Blastoise.
The massive Water-type Pokémon glared at Shadebark as it took its place on the battlefield.
But Blue wasn't done yet.
Blastoise, let's show them what we've got!" Blue shouted as he activated his Keystone Bracelet and with a brilliant flash of light, Blastoise Mega Evolved into Mega Blastoise.
The powerful form of Mega Blastoise towered over the field with its massive cannons glistening as it unleashed a mighty roar.
This is it, Sage! Let's see what you've got!" Blue called out with a smirk with his voice brimming with confidence.
Sage narrowed her eyes as she knew this would be the toughest challenge yet but she wasn't backing down.
Shadebark, let's do this!" Sage called out as Shadebark barked loudly.
The battle began with Blue barking out his first command.
Blastoise use Hydro Pump!" Blue called out
Mega Blastoise turned its cannons towards Shadebark and unleashed a powerful torrent of water.
The sheer force of the attack hit the air like a thunderclap and the force of the water sent ripples through the stadium.
Shadebark use Shadow Ball!" Sage called out.
Shadebark mouth opened and conjured a swirling mass of dark energy and hurled it directly at Mega Blastoise.
The two attacks collided, creating an explosion of mist and energy that sent shockwaves through the arena.
Not bad" Blue muttered and wiped some sweat from his brow.
Blastoise use Ice Beam!" Blue called out
Blastoise fired a concentrated beam of freezing energy as the icy light cut through the air at an alarming speed.
Shadebark, dodge and use Spirit Howl!" Sage called out.
Shadebark's agile form danced around the Ice Beam and evaded the attack with ease and then as it landed gracefully on the ground, it unleashed a chilling Spirit Howl as the ghostly sound reverberated through the air.
The howl hit Mega Blastoise with an eerie power and lowered its Attack and Special Attack, causing it to falter for a moment.
Blastoise, shake it off! Use Aqua Tail!" Blue called out.
Mega Blastoise rushed forward and swung its large tail which was now enveloped in water, towards Shadebark.
Shadebark, counter with Energy Ball!" Sage commanded.
Shadebark conjured a glowing green orb and hurled it at the oncoming Aqua Tail as the two attacks collided but the Energy Ball hit with incredible force, sending Mega Blastoise stumbling backward.
Water splashed everywhere as Blastoise struggled to regain its balance.
Blastoise use Dark Pulse!" Blue called out.
Mega Blastoise was not deterred as it fired a dark pulse of energy from its cannon and the blast surge towards Shadebark.
Shadebark, use Leaf Blade!" Sage called out as with surprising speed, Shadebark rushed forward with its ethereal form flickering like a shadow as It slashed through the Dark Pulse with its glowing, leaf-like blade and in a swift, fluid motion, it struck Mega Blastoise across the chest.
The Water-type Pokémon grunted in pain but held strong.
Nice try, but it's not enough" Blue growled with a hint of frustration creeping into his voice.
Blastoise use Hydro Cannon!" Blue called out.
The mighty cannon on Blastoise's back glowed with intensity as it prepared to unleash the devastating Hydro Cannon as a huge torrent of water erupted from the cannons and soared towards Shadebark at an overwhelming speed.
Shadebark use Shadow Ball and aim for the cannons!" Sage called out.
Shadebark's eyes glowed a deep purple as it launched another Shadow Ball as this one was aimed directly at the Mega Blastoise's cannons.
The attack hit with precision, causing the powerful Hydro Cannon to misfire as the blast spiraled away from Shadebark and hit the stadium floor and causing a massive explosion that shook the arena.
Blastoise, no!" Blue shouted with frustration evident in his voice.
Mega Blastoise was now struggling as it stared down Shadebark with a fierce determination but Sage could see it was weakening.
Now, Shadebark! Use Sludge Bomb!" Sage called out
Shadebark conjured a toxic, green glob of sludge and hurled it at Mega Blastoise as the attack hit Blastoise head-on, splattering the poison all over its body.
Mega Blastoise winced and began swaying back and forth.
Blastoise use Skull Bash!" Blue called out desperately.
Mega Blastoise lowered its head down as its defense rose as it began charging its final attack.
Shadebark use Shadow Ball one more time!" Sage called out as with a determined cry, Shadebark launched a final Shadow Ball at Blastoise.
The dark energy hit Mega Blastoise square in the chest and the massive Water-type staggered with its form flickering before it collapsed to the ground in exhaustion and it returned back too normal.
The referee immediately raised his hand.
Blastoise is unable to battle! Sage wins the match!" The Referee shouted.
The crowd erupted in cheers as Sage's victory was announced as the stadium shook with applause and Sage could hardly contain her excitement as she had done it. She had beaten Blue.
Sage smiled with her heart racing with adrenaline as Blue recalled his fallen Pokémon as he looked at Sage with a mixture of frustration and respect.
You're stronger than I thought but promise me you won't lose to the champion" Blue said with a slight smirk.
Sage nodded with her bond with her Pokémon stronger than ever.
Thanks, Blue. I will beat the champion no matter what" Sage said.
Blue nodded and walked away as Sage was excited as the battle with the champion was coming up fast.
