Sage finally arrived at Pewter City as her heart.was pounding with excitement as she has finally arrived at her first Gym city and the sight of the rocky, mountain-lined town filled her with awe as she took in the scenery and she noticed a familiar face just ahead—Red, her friend and rival.
Red!" Sage called out as she was happy to see her childhood friend.
Hey, Sage! Looks like we made it to Pewter City around the same time" Red said with a small smile
Looks like it! How about we kick off our arrival with a battle? We haven't had the chance to see each other's skills yet" Sage said
Sounds like a great idea! Let's do a two-on-two match" Red said.
Alright, I'll go with Pidgey and Charmander!" Sage said
I'll use Pikachu and Mankey" Red said.
They found a small open area at the entrance of the city and stood on opposite sides of the makeshift battlefield as they were eager to test each other skills.
Pidgey, let's show them what we can do!" Sage said as she sent out Pidgey.
Red said nothing as he sent out Mankey as the fighting type Pokemon looked determined to win.
The battle began with Mankey lunging forward with a Scratch attack.
Pidgey, dodge and use Tackle!" Sage commanded.
Pidgey took to the air and swiftly dodged Mankey's attack before diving down with a powerful Tackle, hitting Mankey and pushing it back but Mankey was tough as it shook off the attack and narrowed its eyes.
Mankey use Fury Swipes!" Red called out.
Mankey's claws glinted as it rushed forward and began swiping multiple times at Pidgey as Pidgey tried to dodge but one of the swipes landed causing it to stumble slightly.
Hang in there, Pidgey! Let's try to get faster!" Sage encouraged.
Just then something remarkable happened as Pidgey's movements became sharper and quicker as it seemed to unlock a newfound burst of speed as Sage's Rotom Phone beeped with a notification showing Pidgey had just learned a new move—Quick Attack.
Yes! Pidgey, use Quick Attack!" Sage said exciteattack a
Pidgey zipped forward with blinding speed and hit Mankey directly and causing it to stumble back as the attack was faster than anything Pidgey had done before and it left Mankey looking a little shaken.
Nice work, Sage but Mankey isn't done yet. Mankey use Fury Swipes!" Red shouted.
Mankey charged forward with its claws growing sharper as it began slashing rapidly towards Pidgey as Pidgey dodged the first swipe but got grazed by the second as it let out a small cry of pain.
Hang in there, Pidgey! One more Quick Attack!" Sage said.
With its newfound speed, Pidgey launched forward once more and collided with Mankey in a burst of energy as Mankey staggered back and after a moment it fell to the ground and fainted.
Good work, Mankey. You did great" Red said as he recalled Mankey.
Awesome job, Pidgey!" Sage said as she hugged Pidgey.
But the battle wasn't over yet as Red's face turned determined as he released his next Pokémon.
Alright your Pidgey has incredible speed but let's see how it handles my Pikachu!" Red said.
Pikachu emerged from its Poké Ball as sparks began dancing around its cheeks and Sage could feel electricity crackling in the air.
Pidgey, return! Charmander, you're up!" Sage called out as she was switching Pokémon to counter Pikachu's electric moves.
Smart choice but let's see how Charmander handles this. Pikachu use Thunder Shock!" Red shouted.
Pikachu launched a bolt of electricity at Charmander who managed to dodge but the spark grazed its side as Charmander shook off the shock as it narrowed its eyes in focus.
Charmander, counter with Ember!" Sage called.
Charmander inhaled deeply and unleashed a flurry of small flames toward Pikachu as Pikachu darted to the side but a few embers singed its fur making it squeak in annoyance.
Pikachu, Quick Attack!" Red said.
Pikachu zipped forward as it became a yellow blur streaking across the field as It struck Charmander before it could react but Charmander managed to stay on its feet with determination blazing in its eyes.
Charmander use Scratch!" Sage said
Charmander lunged forward with its claws outstretched as it began swiping at Pikachu as Pikachu dodged but it was starting to tire as it began breathing heavily after the back-and-forth exchanges.
Pikachu one more Thunder Shock!" Red siwd
The electricity was about to struck Charmander but Sage was quick to react.
Charmander finish it with Ember!" Sage said.
Charmander summoned every last bit of strength as it unleashed another flurry of embers at Pikachu but this time the attack landed squarely and Pikachu staggered back before finally dropping to its knees as it fainted.
Red let out a breath and recalled Pikachu, nodding in acknowledgment of Sage's victory.
You got me Sage. That was an intense battle" Red said with a small smile.
You were amazing too, Red! Your Mankey and Pikachu are really insanely strong" Sage said in excitement.
Red extended his hand and Sage shook it as both of them was grinning.
I'll be looking forward to our next battle" Red said with a glint of determination in his eyes.
Me too!" Sage replied as she was feeling a rush of excitement.
