Sage and Red walked side by side as they made their way to the Magnet Train station as the sun was high, casting a warm glow over the bustling streets of Fuchsia city.
I can't shake the feeling that something big is coming" Red said as he broke the silence.
Sage nodded, understanding exactly what he meant.
I know. We've already faced so much but Team Rocket is a whole different level" Sage said as she was feeling nervous but also excited as this might be their chance to end Team Rocket and also rescue Red missing dad.
As they arrived at the station, they quickly spotted Leaf and Blue as Blue seemed sour while Leaf was extremely excited.
So, who won?" Leaf asked with her voice full of curiosity.
Sage did" Red said as his voice sounded more distant then usual.
Blue nodded and crossed his arms.
Leaf also managed to beat me, her Mega Venusaur is a beast" Blue said as he felt mad he lost but he couldn't deny Leaf won fair and square.
It was not an easy battle but Venusaur and I make a good team" Leaf said with a smile.
Red's expression softened.
Well, let's not waste any more time. We've got a mission ahead. Saffron City awaits" Red said anxiously.
The four trainers boarded the train as the doors closed shut behind them as the ride was only six minutes but the tension in the train was so thick as Blue, Leaf and Sage snuck nervous glances at Red who seemed lost in thought.
Everyone knew Red had a good relationship with this father but that came crashing down when he was four years old and his family was reported missing and shortly after Red mother had died to suicide which led to him being adopted by Leaf Parents.
Everyone knew Red was extremely mad as he want nothing more then to find his father and scream at him for abandoning him and his mother to do god knows what as Red simply didn't want to find his dad, he wanted to make him pay.
As the train finally arrived at the Saffron City station the group disembarked and walked toward the entrance of Saffron city as they immediately spotted Daisy nearby as she had a look of concern on her face.
Daisy, what's wrong?" Sage asked in concern.
Daisy's expression was grim.
Team Rocket is inside Saffron City and from what I've gathered, they're in Silph Co trying to do something big and I don't know what it is but it's not good" Daisy explained.
Blue immediately turned serious.
Well, let's go stop them" Blue said with his voice laced with determination.
Daisy shook her head, her gaze flickering with frustration.
That's easier said than done. Team Rocket has somehow managed to put up a Psychic barrier around the entire city, preventing anyone from getting in or out and I've tried everything but nothing works" Daisy said.
They must be using a powerful Psychic Pokémon to create that barrier" Leaf mumbled.
Blue who never one to back down from a challenge, shrugged confidently.
No problem. If we can't get through the front, we can just fly on top of the barrier. We'll find a way in from there" Blue said with a smirk.
Sage was about to nod in agreement when she noticed that Red had disappeared and as she scanned the area, her heart skipping a beat when she didn't see him.
Where's Red?" Sage asked with her voice tinged with worry.
The group quickly realized that Red was already several steps ahead and is most likely trying to find a way to enter Saffron city so he can find his father.
Red must have left to complete his goal" Daisy said with a frown on her face.
This is bad, we don't know how many team rocket grunts are in Saffron city and for all we know Red could be walking into a trap or worse " Leaf said with worry in her eyes.
I wouldn't worry about Red, he is strong enough to handle himself but I'm more worried about what Team Rocket wants with Silph Co, we have to proceed with caution" Blue said.
I'll stay here to look for a way to break the barrier completely" Daisy said as Leaf, Blue and Sage nodded.
Leaf, Blue and Sage all called out their flying Pokémon as Sage released her Pidgeot, Leaf sent out her Fearow and Blue summoned his own Pidgeot and without hesitation, all three trainers mounted their Pokémon and took off into the sky.
The wind whipped past them as they soared higher as they began nearing the top of the Psychic barrier.
Sage felt the pressure of the situation weighing on her but she couldn't let her fear control her.
As they approached the barrier's peak, Sage spotted something a faint flicker of energy that seemed to pulse within the barrier itself.
There! Do you see it?" Sage called to Leaf and Blue.
I think I see it too. But what is it?" Leaf asked in confusion.
Blue's voice cut through the tension.
Whatever it is, it's our way in. Let's find a way to break through" Blue said.
Sage's heart pounded as they flew closer as the knew the situation was going to get intense but they were determined.
