Sage stood before the Celadon City Gym as her heart was pounding with excitement as this was the moment she'd been waiting for—her fourth Gym Badge and the chance to test Mega evolution against the younger gym leader.Sage took a deep breath and walked into the gym with one goal and that was to beat the fourth gym leader who would also use mega evolution in battle.
(Scene Change)
Sage entered the gym as she was greeted by gym guide who handed her five lemonade bottles and advised her to use them to heal her Pokémon during the battle and offered some strategic tips for facing Erika
Erika is a tough opponent so you will need to overcome her use of status conditions and having a fire type on you will be essential for taking her down" the gym guide said.
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind" Sage said as she walked up the stairs as her mind was racing with thought on who is Erika mega evolution Pokemon.
At the top of the stairs, Sage saw Erika standing gracefully near a field of vibrant flowers.
You must be that trainer Blue told me about," Erika said as her calm voice was like a soft breeze in the gym.
Sage blinked in surprise. "Did Blue already win his Gym Badge?"
Erika shook her head. "No. His Wartortle, Raticate, and Kadabra lost because Blue is too arrogant.
Sage was taken aback by the news as she hadn't expected Blue to lose a battle as she wondered how Blue felt about his loss against Erika.
We'll have a three-on-three battle, so show me what you've got and don't hold back" Erika said as Sage nodded in agreement.
(Battle start)
Sage stepped forward and confidently sent out Shadebark who barked happily as he looked ready to battle.
Let's do this, Shadebark!" she called. Erika smiled and sent out her Leafeon as Sage Rotom Phone buzzed and displayed Leafeon Pokedex entry.
Leafeon the Verdant Pokémon. It is known for its agility and connection to nature. Leafeon evolves from Eevee when exposed to a Leaf Stone in a forested environment ane this Pokémon's body is covered in leaves, which it can use to blend into its surroundings, making it an excellent ambush attacker.
The battle began immediately.
Shadebark use Shadow Ball!" Sage commanded.
Leafeon use Magical Leaf and block that Shadow Ball!" Erika called out.
The two attacks collided in midair, with the swirling green leaves of Leafeon's move canceling out the dark energy of Shadebark's as the clash of energy left a small burst of light that created a mini shockwave.
Leafeon use Leaf Blade!" Erika said with a smile.
Shadebark, jump up and use Sludge Bomb!" Sage immediately said.
Shadebark leapt gracefully into the air and narrowly dodged Leafeon's Leaf Blade as the grass type move slashed through the air and in one swift motion, Shadebark unleashed a toxic Sludge Bomb, sending Leafeon crashing into the gym wall with a loud thud as Erika winced in concern for her Pokémon
Leafeon, are you okay?" Erika asked, but Sage wasn't giving her any time to recover.
Shadebark, use Shadow Ball!" Sage said.
Erika quickly raised her hand. "Leafeon use Protect!"
Leafeon threw up a shimmering barrier just in time, blocking the incoming attack as Sage mind raced as she said.
Shadebark use Bitter Burst!" Sage ordered as Shadebark's eyes gleamed with a mischievous energy as it released a dark burst of energy that swirled toward Leafeon as the attack hit Leafeon directly, causing it to flinch in pain.
Leafeon!" Erika cried out. "You've got to hold on!"
But Sage wasn't finished. "Shadebark, use Shadow Ball again!"
Erika didn't hesitate. "Leafeon use Protect!"
Leafeon's second barrier appeared as the shadow ball hit causing a huge explosion that sent dust everywhere making it hard to see.
Sage's smirk as she had known this was coming as Leafeon was disoriented and looking around in confusion but Shadebark had already used the moment to its advantage and without warning, Shadebark appeared behind the dazed Leafeon like a predator.
Erika's jaw dropped in surprise. "What—?"
Shadebark use Sludge Bomb!" Sage shouted as Shadebark growled and released a huge toxic sludge.
The toxic sludge hit Leafeon head-on, sending it flying into the air and crashing beside Erika as Leafeon fainted with a final, exhausted sigh and Erika's expression turned grim.
Leafeon is unable to battle," the referee announced as Sage couldn't help but grin.
Sage still had three Pokémon remaining, while Erika was left with just two. The battle was far from over but Sage felt confident that her well-trained team could handle whatever came next.
