Two days had passed since the chaotic blaze at the Pewter City Museum as the city was gradually returning to normal and with help from Brock and Officer Jenny the wild Magmar were safely subdued and relocated to their natural habitat.
However the mystery still loomed who had set the fire and what was their motive?
During Officer Jenny recovery, Sage had told Officer Jenny about the mysterious figure she'd seen fleeing the museum right before it collapsed.
Officer Jenny took the lead on the investigation as she was diving deep into what evidence was left and that's when she and Brock examined the ruins of the museum and rhey made a shocking discovery.
The Molten Rock was missing. Jenny's suspicion immediately fell on Team Rocket who had been reportedly interested in rare and legendary artifacts as she began her full investigation as shw was leaving no stone unturned in Pewter City.
Meanwhile, Sage was finally discharged from the Pokémon Center as her body was feeling stronger but still a bit sore from the ordeal.
She stepped out into the morning sunlight as she was feeling a mixture of relief and excitement as she had grown close to her Pokémon and proven herself as a capable trainer and yet there was still so much ahead of her.
As she took her first steps outside the Pokemon center a cheer rose up from a crowd waiting nearby.
Sage! Sage!" the people of Pewter City called out as they was clapping and smiling as they gathered around her as Sage blinked as she was surprised at the attention and a blush was spreading across her face as she wasn't expecting this.
At the front of the crowd was the little girl Sage had rescued from the museum as the girl was clutching something in her hands as she ran up to Sage as her eyes was bright with gratitude.
Thank you for saving me, Sage," she said shyly as extended her hands to reveal a pair of glassairas Sage's eyes widened as those were her glasses, the ones she'd lost during the rescue!
I... I didn't realize these were missing," Sage said as her voice was soft as she took her glasses from the little girl and to her surprise the glasses were fully repaired, polished and looked good as new.
They were all bent up so my mom and I fixed them and I wanted to give them back to you. You're my hero" The little girl said.
Sage felt a blush creeping up to her face as she knelt down to the girl's height.
Thank you so much. You didn't have to do that but it means a lot to me" Sage said as she put her glasses on as she wondered how she survived two days without her glasses.
The girl giggled and hugged Sage quickly before running back to her mother as the crowd clapped once more as they were showing their appreciation for Sage's bravery.
Sage gave them a shy smile and a wave as her heart was swelling with gratitude as she didn't feel like a hero but seeing how her actions had impacted the city filled her with a new sense of purpose.
Brock soon joined her as gave her a friendly pat on the shoulder.
You did something truly special, Sage. Not many people would have had the courage to do what you did" Brock said
Thank you, Brock. I couldn't have done it without my Pokémon or the help of everyone here" Sage said with a smile
Brock nodded as his face turned serious.
You've proven yourself a true trainer. I know you have a long journey ahead but remember, if you ever need support you have allies here in Pewter City" Brock said
We'll continue searching for clues about Team Rocket's involvement but for now, Sage, you've given this city hope and inspiration. Thank you" Officer Jenny said.
Sage nodded as she was feeling the weight of her role as a Pokémon trainer as her journey was only just beginning and there was so much more to discover but she knew she was ready to face whatever came her way.
As she walked toward the edge of the city, Sage looked back at the crowd one last time as she was feeling a new spark of determination in her heart.
With her Pokémon by her side, Sage left Pewter City as she was stepping forward on her path to becoming a Pokémon Master.
