Sage was walking back to Cerulean city as she was thinking hard as she learned a lot from Bill about the PC system but that wasn't her main concern as in Sage bag was the Icy Rock which Bill had given to Sage as she had saved him from Butch and Nova.
The way the rock shimmered with an icy glow made Sage wondered if it could be connected to one of the legendary bird as the thought intrigued her but it also filled her with a sense of unease since she remembered what happened to the Molten rock in Pewter City.
As she walked through the bustling streets of Cerulean City her hands instinctively brushed the pocket of her bag where the Ice Rock was safely stowed as Sage knew that by carrying this stone she had essentially become a target as she knew that Team Rocket would stop at nothing to obtain the icy rock.
I need to keep this safe at all cost" Sage muttered as she couldn't let a repeat of what happened in Pewter City happen again.
As she walked, Sage pulled out her Rotom Phone and made a quick decision as she had been meaning to check in with Professor Oak too see how Butterfree and Eevee was doing as Sage dialed Professor Oak and began calling him.
The screen flickered for a moment before Professor Oak's warm, familiar face appeared.
Ah, Sage! It's good to see you. How's everything going?" Professor Oak asked.
Hi, Professor! I'm back in Cerulean City after visiting Bill and he had told me some interesting things about the PC system but there's something else I need to ask you about" Sage said.
"I see. What's on your mind?" Professor Oak asked.
Well I've been wondering how is Butterfree and Eevee doing on the ranch are they getting along with the other Pokemon's or are they have a tough time fitting in" Sage asked worry in her voice.
They're perfectly fine, Sage both of them are currently enjoying their time at the ranch and are playing together with the other Pokémon. Butterfree's been showing the younger Pokémon how to navigate the wild and Eevee has been busy socializing" Professor Oak said.
Sage felt a wave of relief wash over her as she had always worried about her retired Pokémon, but hearing that they were well taken care of at the ranch eased her concerns.
I'm glad to hear that. I've been thinking about them a lot lately." Sage said
It's always hard to leave some Pokémon behind but they'll always be a part of your journey" Professor Oak said with a smile.
Thanks Professor, well I guess my next spot is at Vermilion city to attend the thirty first anniversary of the S.S Anne captain and his wife" Sage said.
Red and Blue have contacted me an hour ago telling me that they are currently waiting for you and Leaf to arrive" Professor Oak said as Sage nodded and hanged up as she smiled and began walking towards Route five.
