Sage stood in front of the pewter city gym as she was trying to calm down since this was a very huge moment in her life and she wanted to make her Pokemon proud by getting the pewter city gym badge from Brock.
Calm down, Sage you got this" Sage said as she took one last deep breath and entered the pewter city gym.

Sage stepped inside as she saw a a man dressed in casual clothes standing near the entrance as he gave her a welcoming nod as he was the Gym Guide who was known for giving tips to challengers.
Hey there, challenger!" The gym guide greeted with a grin.
First Gym Battle, huh? You're in for a tough one. Brock is known for his Rock-type Pokémon, which are strong against many common types so you will want to rely on moves that can break through his Pokémon's high defenses" The gym guide said.
Thanks! I'll do my best" Sage with determination in her eyes
Here, take these" the Gym Guide added as he handed her a few Potions.
Just in case your Pokémon need a quick heal" The gym guide said with a smile on his face.
Sage thanked him and made her way up the stone steps that led to the battle platform as she reached the top and she saw him—Brock the Pewter City Gym Leader standing confidently with his arms crossed.
Welcome to my Gym, Sage," Brock said as his voice was steady and strong.
Thank you, Brock. I'm ready to take you on!" Sage said as she was starting to get nervous.
I admire your courage. We will be having a two-on-two battle so show me what you've got, Sage" Brock shouted.
Sage gulped as she decided to use Metapod and Charmander for this gym battle since she knew Pidgey, Eevee and Pikachu would struggle.
Brock nodded and called out his first Pokémon which was Geodude while Sage released Metapod as the two Pokémon squared off and was getting ready to battle.
Sage Rotom Phone scanned Geodude and began displaying it information.
Geodude the Rock Pokémon. Rock/Ground Type. It uses its arms to climb steep mountains and paths and Its body is as hard as rock.
Sage gulped as she knew this battle wouldn't be easy.
Geodude use Rock Throw!" Brock commanded.
Geodude lifted several rocks from the ground and hurled them toward Metapod with force as Metapod braced itself but was struck by the rocks as Sage saw Metapod wince from the hit.
Metapod use String Shot!" Sage called out.
Metapod shot a sticky thread of silk at Geodude which reduced its speed.
Geodude use Defense Curl!" Brock shouted.
Geodude's rocky body shimmered as it braced itself as it began increasing its defense even further as Sage bit her lip as she began realizing that Metapod was in trouble.
Metapod try using Tackle!" Sage said.
Metapod moved forward and tackled Geodude with all its might but Geodude barely budged as Sage was beginning to see that Metapod was struggling.
Geodude finish Metapod off with Rock Throw!" Brock commanded.
As Geodude launched another rock, Metapod braced itself as Sage was about to recall Metapod when suddenly Metapod's eyes glowed blue.
What's going on...?" Sage murmured.
The blue glow intensified as Metapod's entire body shimmered and with a burst of light it began to change shape as Sage watched in awe as her Metapod evolved into a beautiful Butterfree.
Sage's Rotom Phone chirped as it began announcing the evolution.
Butterfree the Butterfly Pokémon: In battle it flaps its wings at high speed to release highly toxic dust into the air.
Alright, Butterfree use Confusion!" Sage said excitedly.
Butterfree's eyes glowed as it unleashed a wave of psychic energy as the attack struck Geodude and lifted it briefly off the ground and sending it crashing back down as Geodude groaned and then fainted.
Impressive! That was a critical hit. Your Butterfree's amazing and strong!" Brock said with a smile on his face.
Sage was speechless as she was barely able to believe what had just happened. Butterfree had evolved and defeated Geodude in one powerful strike.
Brock took out his second Poké Ball as his expression was serious again.
But we're not done yet. Go, Onix!" Brock said as he threw out his ace Pokemon.
Sage's excitement was tempered by the sight of Brock's final Pokémon which was looked ferocious and determined to win but Sage wasn't going give up no matter what.
