Sage left the Fuchsia City Gym with a bright smile on her face as she clutched her newly earned Soul Badge as she couldn't believe she had already collected five badges as she couldn't believe that she only needs three more badges in order to challenge the Pokemon league.
Sage recalled Charizard back into its Pokéball as Sage knew the rest of the gym leaders would be tougher but first Sage needs to help Red by finding his missing father who was spotted in Saffron city.
Sage made her way toward the Pokémon Center with determination in her eyes as she was going to help Red no matter the cost as she entered the Pokemon center.
(Scene Change)
Inside the Pokémon Center, Sage approached Nurse Joy and handed over her Pokéballs as she said
Can you heal my Pokémon, please?" Sage asked with a smile.
Of course, Sage!" Nurse Joy replied with her usual kindness as she took the Pokéballs and disappeared into the back room.
A few minutes later, Nurse joy returned with the healed Pokémon and handed Sage back her Pokéballs as Sage thanked her and clipped the Pokéballs onto her belt as she turned and saw Red who was sitting on a bench waiting for her.
So, you got your fifth gym badge" Red said with his usual calm demeanor making Sage smile.
Yeah, Janine's Mega Beedrill was no joke" Sage replied as she was sat down next to Red.
Let's wait for Blue and Leaf. Blue has already gotten his fourth badge and is on his way here to get his fifth and Leaf's training by the shores near Fuchsia City to get stronger before facing Janine" Red said.
Sage nodded in agreement, knowing it wouldn't be long before Leaf and Blue arrived.
(Time Skip)
Three hours later, the doors to the Pokémon Center slid open with a soft chime as Sage looked up to see Leaf and Blue enter as the both had smiles on their face.
Leaf's bright expression radiated with pride as she held up her Soul Badge.
I beat Janine!" Leaf exclaimed with her usual enthusiasm.
Blue wasn't far behind with his trademark cocky grin plastered on his face as he showed off his own Soul Badge.
It's only natural that I get the Soul Badge without problems" Blue said but in the back of his mind he refused to admit that Janine nearly wiped out his team.
Congratulations, both of you!" Sage said as she was happy for her friends since Janine was no joke as she was glad that all her friends had the Soul Badge.
Red nodded in acknowledgment.
Now we can talk about the next steps. There's something I need to tell you guys" Red said as he looked between Leaf, Sage and Blue before continuing.
Some people in Saffron City have reported seeing my dad but here's the strangest thing—he was with Team Rocket" Red said as his tone was serious.
Do you think your dad joined Team Rocket?" Leaf asked in concern.
I don't know but I'm going to find out if he did or if he's being forced into joining Team Rocket" Red said with determination in his eyes.
If Team Rocket is really in Saffron City, we might run into Koga" Sage said as she leaned forward.
Wait, Koga? The former gym leader? My gramps told me he died years ago" Blue said in surprise.
He faked his death. He is apart of Team Rocket now and me and Leaf had encountered him in the Safari Zone" Sage said with a grim expression in her face as she still wanted to know why one of the most respected gym leaders in Kanto turned rogue.
Yeah, Koga is definitely alive and he's working with Team Rocket" Leaf said.
Red's eyes hardened with resolve.
This is going to be tougher than I expected but we have no choice. Let's head to the Magnet Train. It'll take us to Saffron City in under two minutes" Red said.
Sage stood up, determined to continue this journey with her friends and with the fate of Red's father hanging in the balance and Team Rocket lurking in the shadows, they had no time to waste.
As they made their way to the train station, Sage couldn't help but feel the weight of the adventure ahead, knowing that this would be a battle unlike any other they'd faced before.
