Chapter 178: The Duality of Man!

-WITH TOMURA-

Tomura stands behind two Yakuza members alongside Twice and Spinner, who watch the fights in each room unfold before them.  He sees the group of Ditto-Riggs digging a tunnel underground as the other heroes follow suit.

"They're disabling the bombs..."  Spinner commented.

"Seriously!?  So annoying!"  Twice exclaimed as his head twitched.

"Does he have any idea how hard it was to plant those bombs THAT deep underground!?"

"All in unpaid overtime!"

"Oh the horror!"

"The pain!"

"I told you we should've started a union!"

On another screen, Tomura sees Charmcaster and Evelyn fighting each other with their spells, Devlin healing Eijiro on another parallel screen, Dabi defeating Shoto and Izuku and Katsuki continuing to fight against Darkstar and Albedo.  The room around them shakes violently as Tomura looks over to another monitor, seeing Kai and Mirio fight as Mirio protected Eri in her arms.

"Looks like the defensive lines are falling...  As predicted, the Nomus we've dispatched still need some work..."  Tomura thought as he stared at the screen.  "Looks like there's still some more testing to be done before we finally reach a prime set of Nomus..."

As Tomura stared at the fighting on the screen as he began to remember his conversation with Kai previously.

-THE PAST-

"This bullet... Right after this was shot into Compress, he couldn't use his quirk for a while..." Tomura asked as he held out the bullet to Kai. "What is this exactly...? What do you plan on doing with this exactly...?"

"... I plan... To break the status quo." Kai said to Tomura.

"Is that so...? Interesting..." Tomura said as he smirked wickedly. "Do tell. How do you plan on doing that exactly...?"

"This has been a personal pet project of mine, something I've been developing for a long while now. A weapon that attacks a person's quirk factor, thus enabling it to..." Kai continued. "Erase an annoying hero's quirk."

"A bullet... That can erase a person's quirk?" Spinner muttered in shock. "A weapon like that could change... Everything!"

"Oh please, I'd hardly call that anything to marvel over." Charmcaster commented. "I wouldn't hold your heads up too highly. Compared to the other villains in the universes, you people and your special little quirks aren't all that powerful. It's like watching a child learning to walk for the first time."

"I suppose for someone like you, this sort of things is rather trivial. But for someone like me, for an organization like ours; who have been continuously been pushed down by this new age of heroes... It's our spear of Longinus. And we intend to use it to make this society bleed." Kai replied to Charmcaster. "You've seen it first hand for yourself, right? What it's capable of? Imagine this weapon, but mass-produced on a larger scale as it floods the underworld black market."

Tomura stares at the bullet in his hand for a moment before looking over to Kai once more.

"The bullet you currently have in your hand is nothing more than a prototype version of our weapon. As it currently stands, it's only capable of erasing a person's quirk temporarily. At least, for now."

"For now...?" Tomura asked.

"We've been getting closer to a more... Finalized version of it. One that will permanently erase the quirk of the afflicted hero. It's nearly completed." Kai continued. "But I digress, with our efforts combined, the heroes that stand on top of this society, their ivory towers they once stood upon will finally crumble as we force them all to kneel before us."
