Chapter 179: The Price of Dreams!

"I heard... That you got into another fight the other day." The Boss interrupted. "You left your opponent in critical condition. Care to explain...?"

"I just laid out a chump who was moving on our turf." Kai replied. Our name Recognition has been falling lately, we have to set an example so they know who rules over them."

"And the new racket without my approval?" The Boss asked, making Kai jump slightly. "I know you started it and that you've been dealing in drugs as well. I believe I made myself clear on where the Shie Hassakai stand on such things as that."

"... I'm only trying to repay you for taking me in Boss... Even though Quirks and heroes have made things harder for us in terms of money, drugs are still an effective source of revenue." Kai replied. "I'm not doing anything the other clans aren't already doing. If we want to survive as a clan, then we need more capital and resources to work with."

"The Todo Gang just got disbanded.  A drug raid, exposed their entire organization and got their leaders imprisoned."  A man in a black Kimino said to Kai as he sat on his couch.

"It'll only be a matter of time before they come for us."  Kai replied.  "We need to be more innovative, if its not too forward of me to say Boss."

"Chisaki, I know what you're thinking- "

"What about the plan I told you about before?  Have you given any thought to it?"  Kai asked.

"Chisaki..."  The Boss growled.  "You're still saying that even after getting shut down so many times...?"

"All we'd need is some time to research and develop the weapon properly!  We won't need much, just a bit enough sample to work with."  Kai said as he approached the Boss.  "We'll release some of the prototypes into circulation, it'll become irresistible!  Then, once we've fanned up enough demand for it, we'll sell the finished product at exorbitant prices!"

"Chisaki- "

"Afterwards, we'll dangle a serum in front of those who's quirk we erase to restore them!  While we sell the guns and bullets to the villains, we'll sell the cure to the heroes!  Since Eri's flesh is the source, we'd have an unlimited number of samples to retrieve from her!  We'll make a monopoly- No, an empire of a whole new market of weapons and control it all!"  Kai exclaimed.  "Then the Shie Hassakai will rule Japan from the shadows once more, then we'll- "

"Chisaki!"  The Boss suddenly yelled angrily.  "That girl...  Is a person.  My grand-daughter.  A living, breathing and empathetic child.  Does that mean nothing to you?  If you want to cut ties with our ideals, then kneel down before me...  And take your own life through seppuku, this very moment.  I won't allow you to slander the very foundation for which our clan stands upon."

"I'm only thinking about the well being of our clan Boss!  If something doesn't change, then it's like you said!  We'll just keep getting pushed further and further into a corner before...!" Kai explained as he clenched his fist. "I refuse to let our clan become nothing more than a memory...!  Please, let me do this!  All of this is for our clan, can't you see that!?"

"...  If you turn away from the path of a human, then that's the end of your chivalry."  The Boss said to Kai.  "We may be Yakuza, but we too have ethics and codes that we must follow, otherwise; we're no better than the common thugs on the street.  Criminals and Villains aren't always the same thing Chisaki.  Remember that."

"This was always a bad habit of yours...  You always take things too far."  The Boss said to Kai.  "Chisaki...  No one will follow a demon with no heart.  Stop straying from my path, if you betray the code of the Yakuzas...  You'll become something that beyond of a human.  Something that you will never be able to return from."
