Chapter 43

3rd Person POV
They're all down to one last Beanstar piece. It was located in the back of Chucklehuck Woods. With Mario and Luigi's newfound moves, they were able to go to places they weren't able to. They weren't able to get very far when a snail blocked their path.

"Winkle Realm ahead. Outsiders not allowed to pass through. But enter Winkle Colosseum and win...and Winkles acknowledge you," the snail said.

They then entered the Winkle Colosseum that was just nearby.

"This is Winkle Colosseum reception. Are you up to the challenge?" The Winkle at the front desk said.

"Yes," Mario said.

"Entrance fee is 500 coins. Pay 500 coins and the rest is free..." the receptionist said. Mario then gave the receptionist Winkle a pouch full of 500 coins. The Winkle then put the coins on the back of the counter.

"You go learn the secrets of Winkle Colosseum. Good luck!" He said. Everyone then went inside. They then found themselves in a large arena and were greeted by another Winkle.

"Welcome to Winkle Colosseum. Ready to try Chuckola Bounce?" The Winkle said.

"Uhh... What's Chuckola Bounce?" Luigi asked.

"OK. All right. I'll explain the rules to you. Winkle Colosseum is a fun place. Try to beat as many Chuckoroks as you can within the time limit," the Winkle explained.

Then, a large rod appeared in Mario and Luigi's hands while a bunch of octopus-like statues appeared around them. Their eyes then began to glow red.

"These are Chuckoroks. Look! One is about to shoot a rock. You touch one, it shocks you. It startled me, too. I will move," the Winkle said.

One of the Chuckoroks then struck the rod, turning it to a blue color, making it strike another Chuckorok, destroying it.

"Chuckola Rocks change color. Hit a Chuckola Rock with your Chuckola Board and it will change color. Hit the Chuckoroks with these rocks to destroy them," the Winkle explained.

Then, a golden mushroom appeared in a Chuckorok's snout.

"This is a Barrier Mushroom. Chuckoroks sometimes spit these out. Get one of these to get wrapped in a barrier. You can't take these from the colosseum," the Winkle said.

Then, the Barrier Mushroom was then shot at Mario, wrapping him in a green barrier.

"You're wrapped in a barrier. Now you can touch Chuckola Rocks without being shocked. Chuckola Rocks hit the barrier and fly off to maybe hit a Chuckorok," the Winkle added.

Another Chuckorok shot a bolt of lightning at Mario, but thanks to the barrier, it was bounced back at the Chuckorok, destroying it.

"So, how many Chuckoroks can you beat before time runs out? To become champion, defeat more than 15! You will need luck. My explanation is done!" The Winkle said before he left.

"Oh, you did it! The high score is yours! You are champion. Take this," the Winkle said as he gave Mario a small, spiral shell. "This is the Winkle Card. Proof that Winkles acknowledge you."

The gang then exited the colosseum to show to the Winkle who's blocking the entrance to the Winkle Realm.

As they got back, Mario immediately showed the Winkle Card to the guard Winkle.
