Chapter 135

The next destination was Orange Ocean, which is located at the coast of Dreamland near the glowing sunset, hence the name.

"So, you found a Star Rod piece somewhere here, right?" (Y/N) said. "Maybe it's underwater?"

"Not really, Mama. It might be further from where we are now," Eve replied.

"Etta..." Meloetta said, saddened and tired.

"Poyo, poyo," Kirby said, trying to cheer up the Pokémon.

"Don't worry. It doesn't matter how long it'll take us to find it, we have to try. Everyone's dream are at stake, and we can't afford a moment to give up!" (Y/N) said, making everyone else nod.

"Alright. Let's get searchin'!" (Y/N) said.

Everyone then began to journey through the sunset-colored island. Not only did they have to tread on land, they even have to move by swimming underwater as well. 

Suddenly, after swimming in water for a bit, they spotted a familiar figure standing in the distance. Meta Knight.

"Here to test us again?" Eve asked.

Meta Knight replied with silence before sending out his knights, followed by his own disappearance.

"Thought so," (Y/N) said. Everyone then prepared for a battle with the knights.

This time, (Y/N) went first by charging at one of the knights with a Lovely Swing, which was blocked by a knight's sword. Their weapons clashed for a bit until (Y/N) went behind the knight and blasted a Star Bubble, sending him flying. 

Eve was dodging slashes and jabs from the knights' weapons left and right until a plan appeared in her head. She instantly ducked, avoiding a spear before throwing a kick upwards, knocking all weapons away. She then threw a spin kick, knocking back the knights as well.

Kirby was sliding to avoid the incoming spears before slashing at the knights with his sword. Meloetta was dodging slashes and jabs as well before she sang, making some knights fall asleep. This counted as her chance to strike while their down. The battle continued until there were no more knights standing.

"Phew... That was rough," (Y/N) said.

"Etta," Meloetta said.

"I kinda wish we figured out why Meta Knight is attacking us..." Eve said.

"Me too..." (Y/N) said until an idea popped up in her head. "Hey, I know! How about we ask him directly?"

"Hey, that's right! Maybe, there could be more to his actions," Eve said.

"Poyo," Kirby said with a nod.

"Well, we know what to do here. Let's get a move on!" (Y/N) said.

Everyone then continued treading throughout the coast to find the Star Rod piece and Meta Knight for answers. The journey continued for a while until they made it inside a chapel. There, they finally found the person they were looking for.

"Meta Knight!" (Y/N) said.

"So, you have arrived," Meta Knight spoke.

"We want answers. Why are you trying to keep us away from the Fountain of Dreams?" Eve said.

"Why did you not return to where you started?" Meta Knight responded

"Poyo?" Kirby said, confused.

"So far, you collected five pieces of the Star Rod, correct?" "Meta Knight asked.

"Y-Yeah..." (Y/N) said.

"I see. In that case..." Meta Knight said before throwing a sword to the ground.

"Etta..." Meloetta said.

The others looked at each other, worried and confused at once before finally coming to a decision. Kirby then went up to the sword and picked it up, gaining his Sword ability. Seeing this, Meta Knight then came down from the high platform as he unsheathed his sword.

"Now, let us begin!" He said.

The two sword wielders then began their duel as they charged at each other with their swords clashing with each other, leaving sounds of clangs ringing throughout the chapel. Kirby swung his sword again, but Meta Knight stepped back before unleashing a beam from his sword, causing Kirby to avoid the attack. Meta knight then dove at Kirby, charging at him with his sword. Kirby guarded with his sword, leaving the two fighting for an advantage. Luckily, Kirby pushed back, lowering his opponent's guard and strike, sending Meta Knight's sword flying until it hit the ground sword blade first.

"... I'm impressed, Kirby," Meta Knight said.

"Come on, tell us! Why are you trying to stop us?" Eve said.

"Yes... Perhaps I owe you your answer," Meta Knight said. "It is not only Dreamland's missing dreams that you should be worried about. There is also a greater threat involving this world as well."

"Etta?" Meloetta said, confused.

"'Another threat'? Like what?" Eve said.

"It would be best if you go to the Fountain of Dreams and find out for yourself," Meta Knight said. He then gave a Star Rod piece to Kirby.

"I do hope you all think of your next move rationally," He spoke before he disappeared.

"What does he mean by that?" (Y/N) asked.

"I don't know, Mama," Eve said.

"Poyo..." Kirby said.

"Well, at least we got another Star Rod piece. Let's keep looking until we reach the Fountain!"
