After walking out of the door, the trio found themselves in a vast plains. In the distance was long mountain that goes up in spirals which leads to a large rock carved as the of a wicked witch. On the opposite side was a small house.
"What is this place?" Eve asked.
"It looks kinda peaceful," (Y/N) said.
"Etta," Meloetta said, pointing at the witch-shaped rock.
"Who lives there?"
"I don't wanna know who, honestly," (Y/N) said.
Suddenly, the sky grew dark with many dark green clouds covering the sun and a sinister tension coveting the area.
"Melo?" Meloetta said, looking at the clouds confused.
Then, out of the rock came an old witch with green skin wearing a pointy hat and a black robe riding on a flying broom while laughing.
"Come to me my little pretty, you'll soon be ugly, what a pity!" The witch said as she flew to a young female anamorphic bear.
"Let me go, you ugly old hag!" The young girl screamed.
"Don't scratch and bite, my little bear, you'll soon need bigger underwear!" The witch said.
"She's getting kidnapped! We gotta hurry and help her!" Eve said.
Everyone rushed up to the witch to save the little girl, but they were too late. After kidnapping the little girl successfully, the witch flew away back to the inside of the rock while cackling evilly.
"Melo!" Meloetta panicked.
"Get back here!!" (Y/N) said.
"Great. Now what?" Eve said.
"Pssst! You three! Over here!" A voice said. The three turned a round and saw a mole wearing goggles.
"You saw what happened just now, right?" The mole asked.
"Yeah! That little girl got kidnapped by that ugly witch," (Y/N) said.
Then, out of the small house came a bear wearing yellow pants along with a red bird in his blue backpack.
"Huh? Who are you guys?" The bird asked.
"I've never seen you before," the bear said.
"I'm (Y/N). This is Eve, and this is Meloetta," (Y/N) spoke.
"Hi there!" Eve said.
"Etta!" Meloetta chimed in.
"Guh-huh! Nice to meet you! I'm Banjo, and this is my buddy, Kazooie," the bar said.
"Hello!" The bird named Kazooie said.
"Uh, excuse me? I'm right here," the mole said, insulted by being left out.
"Oh, yeah. Sorry about that," Eve said.
"I'm Bottles, the short-sighted mole," the mole said.
"You probably already heard, but I'm (Y/N), this is Eve, and this is Meloetta," the (H/C)-ette said.
"I'm Banjo, and this is my buddy Kazooie!" Banjo said to Bottles.
"Sure are strange looking buddies. Can they talk?" Bottles asked.
"Better than you can, goggle boy!" Kazooie said, making Eve hold in her laughter.
"What was all that noise about? Where's my sister Tooty?" Banjo asked.
"The ugly witch Gruntilda swooped down out of the sky and grabbed her!" Bottles said.
"We where there, too! We saw the whole thing!" (Y/N) said.
"Melo!" Meloetta said.
"Calm down, geeky, we'll get her back!" Kazooie said to Bottles. "Where did she go?"
"She flew up to her mountain layer!" Bottles answered.
"'Mountain lair'? You mean that huge ugly rock over there?" (Y/N) asked, pointing at the rock shaped as Gruntilda.
"Yep! It's really dangerous, so you'll probably need some training before you go up there," Bottles said.
"You bet we're good enough, bottle brain!" Kazooie said.
"Mmm... Very well. I'll give you your basic moves. Meet me at the top of Spiral Mountain," Bottles said before going back down the hole he dug.
Everyone then moved on to the path of Spiral Mountain. The lower plains were coveted with beautiful yellow flowers and large hopping vegetables with eyes. After traversing the plains, the gang began running up the hill that went up in spirals, which Spiral Mountain lived up to the name with, until the finally reached the top with a wooden bridge connected to Gruntilda's lair.
Then, Bottles came up from a hole that was near the bridge. "So, you're ready to tackle the witch now?" He asked.
"You bet we are!" Eve said.
"Show us the way, bottle boy!" Kazooie said.
"Cross the bridge to enter Gruntilda's lair. Look for me inside... Good luck!" Bottles said before burrowing back in the hole.
"Alright. Let's hurry on in!" (Y/N) said.
Everyone then went inside the lair. The lair was filled with many corridors with dangerous traps waiting for them. The first things they saw were not only a pair of corridors, but also a portrait with Gruntilda on it.
"So ugly..." Eve said.
"No kidding," Kazooie said.
"Hey, what's that up there?" Banjo asked, pointing at a golden jigsaw puzzle on top of a ledge.
Meloetta flew up and grabbed the puzzle piece. And to its surprise, there were a pair of eyes on it.
"Hey... It's me, Mr. Jiggy! Now go and find a picture with a piece missing!" The puzzle piece said.
Meloetta then came down with Mr. Jiggy with it.
"Did the puzzle piece speak just now?" Banjo asked, making Meloetta nod.
"And if I remember correctly, he told us to take to a picture with a missing piece," (Y/N) said.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go find that picture!" Kazooie said.
The gang then moved forward to the right side of the corridor hall to an area with grassy plains. Then, they found a picture with a missing piece in the distance, which could be the exact picture they were looking for.
"To enter the world shown on the picture, you must fill in the missing spaces with the jigsaw pieces," Bottles said.
"We've got the first jigsaw piece, goggle boy!" Kazooie said.
Banjo then places the jigsaw piece on the picture, making the picture look complete. Meanwhile, a door was opened in a small cave that led to a place called Mumbo's Mountain, which was called on the sign above. Everyone then went inside the cave one at a time. The adventure continues!
To be continued...
