Chapter 138

After being blinded by the odd light, the trio found themselves in some kind of small village. In the distance, there was a hill with a bell on top of it.

"What is this place?" (Y/N) asked.

"I don't know. It looks kinda... peaceful," Eve said.

"Melo!" Meloetta said as she pointed at something in the sky.

"What's wrong, Meloetta?" Eve asked.

Everyone looked up at the sky and saw a small plane about to crash. Then, it crashed on the nearby hill.

"Was someone piloting it just now?" (Y/N) asked.

"I hope they're okay..." Eve said.

"Melo! Meloetta!" Meloetta said.

"You're right! Let's see what's going on!" (Y/N) said.

Suddenly, before they were about to investigate, a voice spoke from behind them.

"Um... Hey. I never seen you guys before... Are you new?" It said.

The trio then turned around and saw a black lop-eared rabbit wearing red shorts and a blue cap. He was also carrying a large ring in his hand. Next to him is a small blue sphere with a star for an antenna.

"And you are...?" (Y/N) said.

"My name's Klonoa. This is Huepow," the rabbit said.

"Hello," Huepow spoke.

"Well, hey. I'm (Y/N), and with me are Eve and Meloetta," (Y/N) responsed.

"Hi!" Eve said.

"Etta!" Meloetta said.

"Introductions aside, have you seen that airplane hit a hill somewhere?" (Y/N) said.

"Yeah. We saw the same thing. In fact, we were on our way to Bell Hill right now!" Klonoa said.

"Hey, we were thinking the same thing!" Eve said.

"I see. How about we all go together?" Huepow said.

"Fine by me!" (Y/N) said.

"Etta!" Meloetta said with a nod.

"Then, it's settled! Let's go!" Klonoa said.

Everyone then went forward to reach Bell Hill and investigate the plane crash there. To get there, they had to tread through the steep mountains. After a while, they made it inside a mine. Suddenly, a voice boomed out.

"Halt! Who goes there?!" It said.

"Um.... Who is it?" Eve asked.

"Here, up here!" The voice responded.

Everyone looked up and saw a large cream lop-eared elderly man standing on top of somewhere.

"How dare you go through my tower without paying proper respects! Hold it right there!" He said.

He then jumped down from the top and reached the ground where the gang was.

"Hey, kids! You shouldn't be sneaking around here!" He said.

"W-We're really sorry, sir," (Y/N) said.

"Hmph. Apology accepted. I'm Balue, the mason," the man said. "So, have you had a look at my beautiful Lephise outside? It's my masterpiece."

"Etta?" Meloetta said, confused and curious.

"'Lephise'? Klonoa repeated.

"Don't know her, eh? She's the legendary diva who sings the 'Song of Rebirth'," Balue said.
