Chapter 131

The group's next destination was Ice Cream Island, a small but vast island located on the coasts of Dreamland.

"Do you think we'll actually find a Star Rod piece here?" Eve asked.

"Poyo..." Kirby said.

"I don't know, but we'll have to at least try to look as much as we can if we want to take it to the Fountain of Dreams," (Y/N) said.

"Etta," Meloetta said with a nod.

As the quartet continued to journey throughout the beach, two small knight watched from the distance.

"You're kidding... They actually got a Star Rod piece from Whispy Woods?" Knight A said.

"Duh, you moron. Haven't you seen how strong they are?" Knight B spoke

"Uh... no?" Knight A said, making the other knight face palm.

"You're hopeless sometimes... Anyway, we gotta find a way to ambush them so they won't go any further," Knight B spoke.

The two knights then ran off somewhere. Meanwhile, the quartet had made it to a desert area of Ice Cream Island.

"Huh. Weird. I don't remember an island having a desert," (Y/N) said.

Suddenly, Meloetta spotted something, or perhaps someone, in the distance.

"Etta!" She said as she pointed at a familiar figure in the distance. Meta Knight.

"Meta Knight? What are you doing here?" Eve asked.

"You should have thought rationally before you set out," Meta Knight spoke.

"Etta?" Meloetta said, confused.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" (Y/N) asked.

"This has nothing to do with you. Turn back," Meta Knight said.

"Poyo..." Kirby said.

"But why, Meta Knight?" Eve asked.

"You do not understand what your actions will lead to. I am merely asking you to stop for your own good, and everyone else's," Meta Knight answered.

"Etta..." Meloetta said, conflicted.

"... We can't! Not yet! Everyone's dreams are at stake! Without the Star Rod with the Fountain of Dreams, no one can dream anymore. So... we won't stop until we complete the Star Rod and bring to the Fountain!" (Y/N) declared, making the others nod 

"It seems that words alone won't be enough to persuade you. In that case... Men, to battle!" Meta Knight said.

Suddenly, many knights, which hailed from Meta Knight's crew, appeared before the quartet, ready to strike as their leader disappeared.

"This is not looking good..." Eve mumbled.

"Darn it!" (Y/N) said as everyone prepared for a fight.

The knights all charged at the gang to attack, but the former fought back. Eve had to result to dodging a spiky mace before picking it up by the chain, lifting up the wielder and throwing them both at two other knights. (Y/N) went at a few knight and swung a powerful Lovely Swing at them, knocking them away. The battle waged on until the it came to an end.

"What the heck was that all about?" (Y/N) asked.

"No idea..." Eve said.

"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby spoke.

"Kirby's right. We can worry about all that later. We got other Star Rod pieces to look for!" (Y/N) said.

"Etta!" Meloetta said.

Everyone then continued onward through Ice Cream Island. Their journey continued until they made their way in some kind of art studio.

"Poyo?" Kirby said, curious about the place.

"Etta...?" Meloetta said worriedly.

"Welcome to the magnificent art museum of Paint Roller!" A voice said. Then, a figure wearing roller skates and a baseball cap and carrying a paint brush and paint bucket appeared.

"Uh... yeah. We're kinda looking for a piece that looks something like this," (Y/N) said before taking out a Star Rod piece they got from Whispy Woods. "Have you seen it anywhere? We need it to complete the Star Rod."

"Oh, uh... I... I'm terribly sorry, miss, but I'm afraid I haven't seen such a thing," Pain Roller laughed sheepishly.

Meanwhile, Eve gave the artist an undeceived look. In fact, she noticed a single item standing at the top of somewhere.

"You sure about that? I can literally see a Star Rod piece up there," she said as she pointed at the item at the top.

"Poyo," Kirby spoke, looking at where Eve was pointing .

"Melo..." Meloetta said, also noticing the Star Rod piece

'Drat! They probably already figure it out!' Paint Roller thought. "Oh, uh, that? Well, uh.. that was... something I could use for my new portfolio! Yeah," he then spoke.

"... Not really buying it," (Y/N) said. "So, sorry to halt your current artwork, but we really need that Star Rod piece. So, if you'll excuse us." She and the others then went closer to the Star Rod piece.

'No...! They're going to get the Star Rod piece! It seems I have no other choice...' Paint Roller thought before rolling in front of the gang, getting in their way.

"If you really want the piece of the Star Rod so badly, then you're gonna have to fight me for it!" He said. 

He then rolled on to an empty painting and created a car, making it come to life. The car then sped at the heroes, making them move out of the way.

"What the heck was that?!" Eve said.

"It's part of my power, you see. I can create whatever I desire and bring it to life," Paint Roller said before moving to another empty painting. "And once this is over, your imminent defeat will be the center of my master piece!"

"As if!" Eve said as she and Meloetta charged at Paint Roller and gave him a combo of a Nebula Punch and Close Combat.

Suddenly, Paint Roller was about to make a counter. He then began to create a bomb until Eve and Meloetta noticed and took a step back before the bomb hit the ground and exploded. In the distance, (Y/N) fired a barrage of Star Bubbles at the artist before Kirby dealt the final blow and swung his sword at Paint Roller, spelling his defeat.

"Phew... That takes care of that," (Y/N) said.

"Etta!" Meloetta said with a nod.

Suddenly, the Star Rod piece that was on top of a shelf somewhere fell to the ground due to shaking from the battle. (Y/N) then went to pick it up.

(Optional victory dance)

"Alright! That's another piece down. Now, let's get going and find the other pieces!" Eve said.
