Chapter 93

The train finally made a stop at the station at Mt. Rugged. Everyone got out and looked around the area.

"Mt. Rugged! Mt. Rugged! Passengers heading for Dry Dry Desert or Dry Dry Outpost should proceed directly over Mt. Rugged from this station," the conductor announced.

"So, where do we find Dry Dry Ruins?" Kooper asked.

"If only we had a map with us..." Eve said.

"Let's try finding a way there. If we're lucky, we might run into Dry Dry Desert," Mario said.

Everyone then began to traverse the barren mountains to look for the exact location. Suddenly, they heard something in the distance.

"Ah... No... Confound it! Where could it be...?" A voice said.

Then, a Koopa with wings and gear bumped into Mario without even noticing.

"Oh! Sorry, folks! Very sorry! I was looking for something and not watching where I was going," the winged Koopa said. He then noticed Mario. "What now? Aren't you Mario?"

"Yes," Mario said.

"Why, you are! You're THE Mario! Hello there! The name's Parakarry. I deliver letters," the winged Koopa said. "Um... I'm normally a letter-perfect postman, but I'm having a bit of trouble with a lost letter. Wouldn't you know it––I dropped it on Mt. Rugged and now I can't find it... If you happen to stumble upon a letter anywhere around here, please tell me, all right? My job could depend on it!"

"Okay. We'll help you find it," (Y/N) said.

"Oh, thank you so much! I'll be searching this area thoroughly for a while..." Parakarry said.

Everyone then began to search the other areas for the letter Parakarry lost. Although searching the vast wasteland was difficult, it wasn't any easier due to the Clefts and Monty Moles causing trouble. Finally after a while of searching, the letter was in sight. It was a white letter with a yellow seal on it.

"This might be the letter Parakarry was looking for!" Bombette said.

"Great! Now, let's get this back to him," Kooper said as he picked up the letter.

The gang then went back to Parakarry to return the letter.

"We're back!" (Y/N) said. "And we found your letter." She then gave him the letter.

"Oh! That's the one! Aw, thanks for finding it! I'm so relieved," Parakarry said. "Uh... Actually... I'm  also looking for two other letters I may have lost."

"Aw man... Really...?" Eve mumbled.

"It wasn't my fault, really! If you find them, could you...?" Thank you so much," Parakarry said.

"Okay. We'll find them for you," Eve said.

The heroes immediately went back to searching for the other two letters. It took a while since they had to take other routes to find them. Then, they returned with the letters and gave them back to Parakarry.

"The two letters! You found them! Now I've got all the letters I've lost... today. Oh, thank you so much!" Parakarry said in relief. "You're a lifesaver! I wish there were some way I could repay you for your help."

Then, something came to mind. "Actually... To be honest... I haven't just lost letters on Mt. Rugged... I may have sort of dropped some all over the Mushroom Kingdom while I was flying," Parakarry said nervously. "Heh heh... yeah. You know, you're good at finding letters."

'No offense to the poor guy, but I think he needs to get himself a new bag if he wants to carry all those letters,' (Y/N) thought.

"Do you think you could keep an eye out during your travels? In return, I would offer you whatever help I can," Parakarry said.
