Chapter 130

3rd Person POV
After the trio catching up with their pink puffball friend, everyone agreed to look for the Star Rod together.

Their first searching grounds was Vegetable Valley, the vast plains surrounded by trees and streaming rivers and ponds, all in its natural glory. Right now, the gang is currently walking among the tree branches.

"I wonder how this Fountain of Dreams makes dreams for everyone in Dreamland..." (Y/N) pondered.

"Melo...?" Meloetta said.

"Poyo?" Kirby said, confused.

"Well, maybe the fountain gave the power to dream to everyone, so that those dreams flow like a stream," Eve said.

"That could be one way to put it," (Y/N) said with a nod.

"Etta," Meloetta said with a nod.

"Poyo, poyo..." Kirby chimed in.

Suddenly, when they were about to go any further, (Y/N) stepped on a broken tree branch, causing herself to almost fall until the others stepped in and lifted her up to prevent the fall.

"Phew... I got pretty careless there. Sorry about that," the (H/C)-haired female said.

"Don't worry about it, Mama. We're just glad you didn't fall," Eve said as the other two nodded.

"Thanks, guys. Let's go," (Y/N) said.

The quartet then moved forward until they reached the vast mountains that lies above the plains. As they  journeyed through the mountains, Eve had something on her mind that's been bothering her.

"I've been thinking... How far do think the Fountain is?" She asked.

"Huh. Now that you think about it, I don't really know..." (Y/N) said.

"Etta..." Meloetta said, wondering about Eve's question.

Meanwhile, Kirby was looking around at the sky for the Fountain of Dreams. However, it was impossible to find at this distance, which led to his sadness and disappointment. The others turned to the pink puffball in sympathy.

"Don't worry, Kirby. We'll find the Fountain eventually. As long as we find the Star Rod," (Y/N) said.

Kirby nodded as the sadness was lifted. The quartet then continued onward. The next area they entered was a dark forest.

"This place is creeping me out..." (Y/N) whimpered.

"Y-Yeah... I don't which is scarier... This or the Mad Monster Mansion..." Eve said.

"Melo..." Meloetta said, scared.

Kirby turned to the trio, wondering why they were so scared.

"Poyo?" Kirby said.

"N-Not to be rude or anything, Kirby... But I kinda envy you. You know, not being scared of a place like this and all," (Y/N) said.

"Me too," Eve added.

"Poyo?" Kirby responded, confused.

"A-Anyway, let's just go find the Star Rod so we could--" (Y/N) said, but before she could finish, a sound of something snapping startled her, along with her chibi dragon and Pokémon.

"Gyah!! W-Who's there?" (Y/N) said until she noticed a broken stick being stepped on by her.

"Phew... Just stepped on a stick. Again, I'm sorry," (Y/N) said.

"Again, Mama, don't worry about all that. Let's get going!" Eve said.

The quartet then continued through dark forest until they made it to a bright area.

"FINALLY OUT!!" (Y/N) shouted.

"Yep. No ghosts this time!" Eve said.

"Melo..." Meloetta said in relief.

Suddenly, the celebration came to a halt when they noticed a familiar large tree in the distance. Whispy Woods.

"Isn't that Whispy?" (Y/N) asked.

"Poyo," Kirby said.

Everyone then went up to the tree to ask him about the Star Rod.

"Hey, Whispy. It's been a while. Uh... We were wondering if you know where the Star Rod is," (Y/N) said.

"Yeah. Dreamland's in big trouble, and no one can dream anymore without it being placed on the Fountain of Dreams," Eve added.

Whispy Woods immediately flinched after hearing them word for word. He immediately shook his head, saying he doesn't know where it is.

"Well, darn it. I guess he doesn't know," (Y/N) said.

"Melo..." Meloetta said in sadness.

Suddenly, Eve sensed something from Whispy Woods. To her, it was some kind of starry power.

"Poyo?" Kirby asked.

"What is it, Eve?"  (Y/N) asked.

"It's pretty faint, but... I sense something... Something like the stars... from Whispy!" Eve said, Whispy Woods flinch again.

"Poyo?!/Etta?!" Meloetta and Kirby said in shock.

"So, Whispy was hiding it?! C'mon, man! You don't have to anything. It's not like we're holding anything against you," (Y/N) spoke.

"Poyo, poyo!" Kirby said.

"Can we at least talk this all out?" Eve asked.

"Melo," Meloetta said with a nod.

Whispy Woods began to panic and was on the verge of cracking completely. Without even thinking twice, he immediately to attack the quartet with a drop of a giant apple.

"Ow! Hey! What was that for? We just want to talk," (Y/N) said.

Whispy Woods didn't respond. Instead, he blew large puffs at the gang, causing them to move out of the way.

"I guess he doesn't feel like talking, Mama..." Eve said.

"Etta..." Meloetta said.

(Y/N) sighed, realizing that she and the others have only one option left if Whispy Woods refuses to negotiate.

"As much as I don't want to do this... I guess we'll just have to fight him," (Y/N) said, making the others nod.

Whispy Woods tried to drop in more giant items like apples and Spiky Gordo's, but the gang dodged each one.

Kirby, now with his Sword ability, charged at the large tree and gave him a couple of slashes with his sword. As more giant apples began to fall from the branches, Meloetta sung its Relic Song to block the apples as it transform to its Pirouette form. Afterward, it kicked some of the apples at Whispy Woods, and even pushed some Gordo's back at him with its Psychic move. Meanwhile, Eve leaped at Whispy Woods with a combo of two punches and two kicks. Then, to finish the fight, (Y/N) used her Sugar Comet attack, regrettably making Whispy Woods cry.

(optional victory dance)

"Man... Now, I feel like a horrible person..." (Y/N) said with full regret.

Suddenly, the gang noticed something in the air. It was some kind of piece to a star-shaped wand.

"What's that?" (Y/N) asked.

"Etta?" Meloetta said.

Eve picked up the piece to examine it for a bit until she noticed something.

"This star power... I think it might be a piece of the Star Rod we were looking for!" She said.

"Poyo?!/Melo?!/Really?!" The other three said in shock.

"I think so. Maybe with this, we might be able to find the other pieces out there!" Eve said.

"So, that settles it! Now, let's get going!" (Y/N) said.

The quartet then moved onward to find the other remaining pieces of the Star Rod. Meanwhile, as the gang continued onward, a shadow of a figure was watching the whole scenario from the distance. The shadow then disappeared.
