Chapter 55

The shortcut to catch up with the Egg Carrier was through Red Mountain. Red Mountain, as the name implies, is more than just a mountain. It's a volcano. It was tough for the trio to navigate through as they had to move not only on the mountain but inside it as well since it's also filled with lava.

Once they made it outside the cave, the Egg Carrier was in sight. Then, luck arrived. It was Tails in his Tornado 2.

"Tails! You're okay!" Eve said happily.

Sonic then got on the Tornado.

"We'll go, too!" Eve said. She then transformed into her big dragon form again. Then, (Y/N) noticed that her wing had fully healed.

"Let's go, Mama!" Eve said. (Y/N) nodded and got on the dragon's back, and Eve began to fly towards the Egg Carrier along with Sonic and Tails on the Tornado.

Then, just like before, it was an aerial battle with the Wgg Carrier. However, the airship became a bit more advanced than it was before. Lucky for the gang, they know what it was capable of. Then, soon after, they were about to make a landing on the ship.

"Great! We're in!" (Y/N) said.

"We gotta land on the Egg Carrier," Sonic said.

"Whoops..." Tails said.

"What's wrong, Tails?" Eve asked.

"Uh... I forgot something," Tails said.

"What's that?" Sonic asked.

"There's no landing gear in this mode," Tails said.

"WHAT?!"

"Oh boy..." (Y/N) said with a worried sweatdrop.

While Eve made a safe landing, the Tornado, on the other hand, crashed. Luckily, Sonic and Tails were able to make it okay. As soon as Eve reverted back to a chibi dragon, everyone took a look around the Egg Carrier.

"Wow! This thing is really huge!" Sonic said.

"No time to gawk now. We need to find Amy and Amitie!" Tails said.

"Yeah! Let's go!" (Y/N) said.

As they all began to move forward, a voice could be heard from the Egg Carrier. It was Eggman's.

"Don't get too many ideas, you fools!" He said. "You haven't seen the power this vessel really has! Get a load of this!"

Then, the airship began to change. Wings began to form on it.

"Ahhh, wow! It's changed shape. Did you see that?" Tails said.

"Darn! This makes it harder for us to get to the bridge!" Sonic said.

"Man, he's stubborn," (Y/N) said.

"Ha ha ha ha ha! I bet you weren't expecting this!" Eggman said. "The only way you can get to me is through the Sky Deck. I doubt if you can figure this one out! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

"Oh, yeah?! Well, I'll show YOU! Bring it on!" Sonic said. He and the others continued forward until they came across a gate.

"This must be the way to the Sky Deck," Eve said. "Let's go in!"

As soon as the group went through the gates, they went and navigated the whole Sky Deck. However, finding their way through it won't be easy since Eggman already triggered some traps and mechanisms to eradicate them. Luckily, thanks to their speed, there weren't the types to be easily crushed. Later, they made it to the Egg Carrier's inside.

"Is that it?" Sonic asked.

"It might be. But let's check out the bridge," Tails suggested.

They all began to take along around the area. Then, (Y/N) saw a small ship that's fully functional but required something for it to operate. Next, there were huge buttons that were jumbled up like puzzle pieces but seemed to spell Eggman's name.
