Chapter 96

3rd Person POV
The gang finally made it to Lavalava Island. After reaching near land, everyone got off the whale and landed on the grass.

"If you want me to take you back to Toad Town, just call," the whale said.

"Got it. Thanks, Mr. Whale," (Y/N) said.

"Yes, well. Finally made it, eh? So this is Lavalava Island... Smashing!" Kolorado said until he spotted something in the distance. "Gracious! Behold, everyone! There! Off in the distance! The top of Mt. Lavalava! Triumphant! We must hurry! Make haste!" He then rushed off.

"Guess we better catch up," Mario said.

Everyone then started moving to catch up to him. Suddenly, a scream was heard.

"Yaaaaaaargh! Help, I say! Heeeeeelp!"

Everyone rushed until they saw Kolorado being attacked by a yellow Fuzzy. Luckily, the heroes defeated it, making Kolorado sigh in relief.

"Phew... You saved me! Many thanks, old chum," Kolorado said. "Well, enough of that! Let's pull ourselves together and press on, what say?"

He then went ahead, making the others follow suit. As the gang went forward, they found themselves in a village where the Yoshi's live. Unfortunately, Kolorado was nowhere to be found.

Suddenly, before they were to press on to find him, (Y/N)'s phone rumbled. She picked it up and saw a text message from Ash.

"Hey, (Y/N)! Hope you aren't too busy," it said

"Nah, it's cool. What's up?" (Y/N) texted back.

"Hopefully it's not a bad time, but me and Goh were planning on venturing with you again. Is that okay?" Ash texted.

"Yeah, sure! Take your time!" (Y/N) texted beforeputting her phone back in her bag.

"Who was that you're talking to?" Goombario asked.

"A friend of mine. Anyway, let's go find Kolorado. Hopefully he didn't get lost," (Y/N) said before everyone kept moving.

Once they reached the rainforest after leaving Yoshi Village, they heard a scream. They then got closer and noticed Kolorado getting attacked by a Shy Guy holding a spear. They got rid of him.

"Phew... You saved me once more. You're top notch, Mario!" Kolorado said. "Now, I feel that our destination is quite near. Let's press on while our spirits are high, eh?" He then went ahead with the others following him until they reached a stream flowing with lava with an entrance to a cave in the distance.

"Ah! Everyone... Have a look at this!" Kolorado said.

"So much lava..." Eve said, distracted by the lava.

"But, uh... It's hot, so, don't touch it," Watt said.

"Looks like the entrance to the volcano, eh, old boy? Somewhere in that volcano are the treasures I'm looking for! I know it! The secrets of an ancient civilization! And yet... I can't find a way in... Bit of a sticky wicket, hm?" Kolorado said.

"But isn't a volcano, even a cave dangerous, though?" Bombette asked.

"But I shall not give up! A good explorer never stops gathering information," Kolorado said.

"That's Professor Kolorado for you!" Kooper said with a thumbs up.

"Let's go back to the village to look for clues. There must be a way in there. There simply must! Come now!" Kolorado said as he went back to the village.

"I admire his determination, but I just can't help but feel like he'll get himself hurt if he's not careful..." Eve said.

"Obviously," Bow said.
