Chapter 78

(Y/N)'S POV

Everything became dark around me. IS this the afterlife? Am I... dead? I remember the island going dark and was under attack by those weird dark monsters I saw in my dream. Suddenly, me, Sora, and Eve got sucked up by a vortex... And then what? Right before I continued to ponder about what happened so far, a voice began to call out to me.

"... up... Wake up... Please..." It said. Wait a sec... That voice... Eve?

"Mama! Wake up!" Eve yelled.

Then, I finally opened up my eyes and and saw Eve looking at me with eyes full of worry.

"Mama! You're okay!!" Eve cried as she embraced me.

"Eve. I'm glad you're okay, too," I said. I then looked at the area around us. It was some kind of unfamiliar city. The place was a small town with shops that had neon signs on them.

"That being said... Where are we?" I asked.

"I wish I knew, mama..." Eve said.

This is not going to be easy for us to find out, I bet. Even they would be confused... Wait a second... They...? Oh, crud.

"I forgot! Where's Sora? Riku? And Kairi?!" I panicked as I got up.

"Gaah! You're right! We better find them!" Eve said. The two of us then began to look around the town for our three friends. I just hope they're safe somewhere.

For a while now, they looked around for their friends in each district of the town. Speaking of districts, there were about four of them. Each with their own theme. With the districts being large, it won't be easy for (Y/N) and Eve to track down Sora, Riku, and Kairi, no matter how hard they look.

Once they reached the second district again, they saw a woman running and tripped to the ground.

"Hey! Are you okay?" (Y/N) said as she and Eve ran up to the woman.

Suddenly, as the two approached her, something came out of the woman. It was shaped like a heart. It then floated up, leaving the body of the poor woman to dissolve into darkness.

"What in--?!" Eve commented in shock.

Then, dark energy began to form around the heart. The heart then transformed into a dark shadow creature but with dark armor around it. It then disappeared, much to the girl and dragon's confusion. Suddenly, the shadowy monsters then appeared from the ground, surrounding them.

"It's those monsters from the island!" (Y/N) said. Suddenly, she felt her hand begin to vibrate. Then, the key she wielded back at the island formed in her hand in a flash of light.

"That key..." (Y/N) said as she said in awe. She then looked back at the monsters as if she was ready to fight.

"Mama!" Eve said as she turned to her human form.

"I know!" (Y/N) said as she readied her key.

The two then charged at the dark monsters and attacked. (Y/N)'s key cutting them into ribbons while Eve used her punches and kicks to give them a beatdown. After a struggle, the two then took a moment to calm down.

"What the heck was that?" (Y/N) said, confused.

"I don't know, mama. But something tells me if those monster are here too, Sora, Riku, and Kairi might be in danger, too," Eve said.

"I hope they're alright..." (Y/n) mumbled worriedly.
