Chapter 52

3rd Person POV
The gang was currently walking around a beachside near a hotel, still pondering about the events that occurred the other night.

"Why did that water guy appear anyway? And just what is he after?" Goh asked.

"I wish I knew the answer..." Eve said.

"Same here. I bet even the people in the city don't even know a thing about him..." (Y/N) said.

Suddenly, a faint sound of a plane zooming can be heard. They looked up and saw a plane about to crash. Even others, including Sonic, seemed to notice.

"Huh? Tails?!" Sonic said. "Watch out! You're gonna crash!" But it was too late. The pilot, also referred to as Tails, unfortunately crashed somewhere far away onto a beach. Everyone looked on in worry.

"Is he okay?!" Ash said.

Then, ribbony wings sprouted on (Y/N)'s back. "Hang tight, guys! I'll see what's going on!" She said as she flew to the crash's location.

"Tails... What am I gonna do with you?" Sonic said. He then zoomed to the crash site, hoping to see if his friend is okay. (Y/N) looked down and saw Sonic moving at speed.

'Is that Sonic? Is he trying to check out the plane crash, too?' She thought. 'Guess I better catch up, too!' She then began to speed up to catch up to the blue hedgehog.

As soon as the two reached the crash site, they saw Tails trying to recover from the crash. Sonic reached his hand out to him first.

"You okay, buddy?" He asked.

*timeskip*

(Y/N) and co. was currently walking with Sonic and Tails.

"Hey, Sonic! Long time no see," Tails said.

"We're just glad that you're doing okay after that crash," (Y/N) said.

"What happened anyway? You're too good of a pilot to just crash like that," Sonic said.

"That was a test run using a new prototype propulsion system. It's got a few bugs to iron out," Tails explained.

"Why not just use my plane, the Tornado?" Sonic asked.

'Sonic has a plane? Who knew?' Ash thought.

"Thanks, but you gotta check out my newest power supply," Tails said. He then took out a purple crystal. "Ta-dahh!"

Everyone looked in awe. "Whoa!" They said in unison.

"A Chaos Emerald!" Sonic said.

"'Chaos Emerald?'" Eveyone except Arle, Amitie, Carbuncle, and Ringo asked.

"Yep! I just happened to find one of the 7 seven Emeralds during one of my test flights," Tails said. This thing's got unlimited power, y'know? So I figured, why not use  it to power my plane. Super charged!"

"Trust me when I say this. Gems like these are a lot stronger than they look," Amitie said.

"You guys gotta come over to my workshop! I've got something I gotta show you!" Tails said. "It's in Mystic Ruins. The fastest way is by train. Let's go!" He then went ahead to the train station.

"Could Tails be working on something?" Ash asked.

"Maybe it's already done," (Y/N) said.

"Anyway, let's go see what Tails is up to," Sonic said. Eveyone then went to the train station after Tails.

Everyone made it to Mystic Ruins, a place where archeologists usually go to investigate ancient artifacts. As soon as the gang reached on top of a nearby hill, a voice rang out.
