Chapter 140

The gang finally made it back to Forlock Forest. Thanks to the water flowing from Jugpot, the forest was now growing back to its former glory.

"Thanks a lot, Karal!" (Y/N) said.

"You're very welcome! Take care!" Karal said. 

Then, a stem beneath the heroes began to grow, taking them higher in the trees.

"Wow... Forlock really has sprouted back up," Eve said.

"It's amazing," Huepow said.

"Yeah. Now, all that's left is to find Granny. She might know about all this!" Klonoa said.

Everyone then moved onward through the revived Forlock Forest. So far, most of the weakened plants were rejuvenated due to the waters shared with Jugpot, opening up new paths. Suddenly, as they treaded throughout the village, they saw someone in the distance. It was a forest guardian being tied up in a small house. They then went to the forest guardian to untie him.

"You all right? Looks like the bad guys are up to their usual tricks..." Klonoa said.

"... You, not bad ones..." The forest guardian said.

"I'm Klonoa from Breezegale. Here, you're free!" Klonoa said as he freed the forest guardian completely.

"Saved! Many thanks," the forest guardian said in gratitude.

"No problem," (Y/N) said.

"Me, guard of gondola. Ponts-koopee!" The forest guardian said.

"Woah, there!" Eve said, surprised.

Meanwhile, at a higher area of Forlock Forest, Joka was watching the whole moment in the distance.

"Aaaaaaaagh! Those annoying brats again!" He said, frustrated. He then turned to his flying monsters. "Okay, guys. Make sure to hide the key to the door somewhere nice 'n outta sight!"

The monsters stood still, not moving an inch after Joka's order.

"Don't just stand there!" Joka shouted angrily.

The monsters then began to fly away to follow the order they were given... Well, not after taking a glance at the gang, of course.

"Now, gondola work," the forest guardian said.

"Etta!" Meloetta said.

"Wow! Thank you so much!" Eve said.

"Ahead, long trip. Be careful," the gondola guardian said.

After taking his advice, the gang then pushed onward to the top of Forlock Forest. They went through many trials and dangers, such as small bridges, small platforms, and even keeping their balance on a mine cart. Then, they all made it to the light above the forest. Suddenly, they came across a dead end.

"It's a dead end..." Huepow said.

"Melo..." Meloetta said.

"What do we do?" (Y/N) asked.

Suddenly, the sound of a lift could be heard. Then, up came a gondola guardian.

"And you are...?" Eve said.

"Cheech-koopah!" The gondola guardian said. "Don't worry. That only Forlock greeting."

"Oh... Got it," (Y/N) said.

"Ch-Chee... chakoopah!" Hue pow said, trying to do the same greeting.

"Um... We want to go to Granny's place..." Klonoa said.

"What?! You after Granny too?!" The gondola guardian said.

"N-No! Of course not!" (Y/N) said.

"Good," the gondola guardian said, making the others sigh in relief. "Granny's house, taken over. Kicked out, we were. Very frustrating."
