Nix's POV

I dragged my butt to the door at the series of knocks, peeking through the peephole to make sure it wasn't Adam.

"Tommy!" I said in surprise upon opening the door, taking in his dark appearance; black skinnies, a gray shirt, and pointed boots.

"Hey, Nix," He wrapped his arms around me and held me tight for a moment before I stepped back to let him in. He ran a hand through his hair and I spotted a small white folder in his other.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Adam came over this afternoon. He wanted me to give this to you." And he handed me the CD case. I glanced at it and saw my name written in Adam's script.

I sighed and dropped my head for a moment before looking back up at Tommy. "Do you know what it is?"

He shook his head. "Nope."

"Did...did he say anything?"

"Not really... I told him I wanted to talk to him later."

"What will you say?" I asked warily.

"Some things that aren't fit for your ears, princess." He gave me a teasing smile, but it didn't reach his eyes. I returned it.

"I trust ya, T."

"I'll try not to be too hard on him."

I leaned against the counter. "There's honestly not much to chastise him about at this point."

"He broke your heart. He tricked you."

I winced. Tommy was usually fairly blunt when something was on the line.

"I broke my own heart, T. I have no idea where things will go with him, but time will tell. Paris invited me to Glasswood over the weekend, and I had time to think. She wants me to move in, so I think I might."

Tommy's brows furrowed in concern. "She lives even further away than your sister,"

I nodded. "I know. It won't change anything for us, Tommy."

He sighed. "Can I be truthful with you, Nix?"

"Of course."

"You're running away from this. From him. He loves you and has for who knows how long? And you've loved him since the moment you met him practically. Nix, just go for it. Take the leap and see where it goes."

My jaw dropped. "Tommy, it's not just me, it's not just Adam, it's-it's Sauli! What about him?"

"That's not your problem, it's Adam's. They're both grown-ups."

I was irritated at his ability to stay so calm and quiet. He was basically right, but I didn't know where to go from there. I said nothing more, but let my eyes fall to the floor.

Tommy's boots appeared in my line of vision and I felt him put his hands on my shoulders. I lifted my head to meet his eyes.

"Nix, things are going to be fine. Adam is still going to be here for no matter what, so please don't be afraid of losing him, okay? He's the most loyal person I've ever met. Sort out your feelings for him and go from there. Deal?"

I gave him a small smile and wrapped my arms around his neck. Tommy hugged me back for a long time, his super skinny frame made him feel like a little kid in my arms. We pulled away and Tommy gave me one last smile before he left.
