Elena walked into class with Cory and Shawn and the three were laughing as Cory told them of Eric's latest failure to get a date.
"Hey Lena, what's that?" Cory asked as he pointed to Elena's desk where a paper flower laid.
Elena walked over to her desk and grabbed the flower, inspecting it with a smile of her face.
"It's a paper flower." She smiled happily and Shawn glared at the flower in her hands, wishing he could just rip it up.
If she wasn't smiling so pretty because of that dumb flower I would have ripped it up by now, He thought to himself.
Elena looked around the room to try and see who left her the flower but Stuart was the only one in class beside Topanga who'd just walked in.
"Stuart, do you know who left this paper rose on my desk?" Elena asked him as she walked towards him.
"No," Stuart told her, his eyes never leaving his book, although Elena did realize he pushed it down so she couldn't see the title. She smiled when she saw the pictures of different origami pieces in the book.
"Oh." She turned to walk away when Stuart spoke up.
"Actually it isn't a rose. It's a gardenia and in the language of flowers an orchid means pure loveliness."
"Well," Topanga cut in, "Then the person who left this for her must be a sensitive and caring soul." Elena nodded her head as she gave Stuart a smile.
"It's beautiful Stuart, thank you."
"Woah, calm down Shawn!" Cory exclaimed as he grabbed onto Shawn's arm and pulled him back when he saw Shawn move towards Stuart with a glare that could kill.
"Who does he think he is leaving my girl a dumb paper flower!" He growled out, his glare never leaving Stuart as he threw himself onto his chair.
Elena was unconsciously playing with the petals of the gardenia as she walked back over to Cory and Shawn but she quickly hide the flower behind her back when she saw Shawn's glare.
"Is it just me," Cory began as he tried to get Shawn's mind away from killing Stuart, "Or is love blooming among the nerd set?"
"I don't know," Shawn said as began to play with Elena's hair, "And I don't care as long as that nerd love stays away from my Lena. The only time I've ever seen a look like that was before Bambi's mother caught that bullet." Shawn said as he nodded his head to the dreamy look on Stuart's face.
Elena rolled her eyes, "Not yours."
"What a movie they'd make." Cory laughed, "It's 'Minkus in Love'. Watch what happens when forty-eight pounds of near-sighted geek meets ten pounds of hair from a parallel universe."
